I have one more for you! If you see an image or words in a magazine that you want to put on your nail just paint over it with clear/top coat. Once it dries, cut it out and put it in a cup of water, after 15 or so minutes the paper backing will peel off and you'll be left with a decal. Viola!

Bubbles actually happen when the first coat hasn’t dried yet. It’s still trying to evaporate and you’ve just “smothered” the first wet coat. Best argument for gel polish which cures throughly before each coat is applied. As far as smudging polish, the example shown is correct and it’s called floating the top coat. - Lori 37 year licensed and active nail tech. 😊

Nail biter here. I've gotten my nails longer than ever by now and here's what worked for me. Just spend an inordinate amount of time on painting your nails (even try nail art despite the small nails you have) But if you can't paint you fingernails, do your toe nails. I did both of these and admired them so much that I stopped biting my nails.

If you're using lemon juice in the hand scrub hack, you'll want to put sunscreen on your hands afterwards if you're going outside. Lemon juice causes sun sensitivity and burns.

Jennifer W the best time to buy liquid Latex is at Halloween! I got a couple of really cheap bottles from Walmart last year. They market it as Zombie flesh but it's just liquid latex!

Georgia Collins get used to it, I took little steps to painting with my other hand, usually start with one color only for your mani, then after you get used to that, use a top coat, and yeah, take baby steps

Paint your dominant hand first, start with the pinky and work to the thumb. And cleanup brushes are your friend! (I keep a toothpick or fine dotting tool out and clean out the cuticle line as I go, it's easier to clean up the polish while it is still wet.)

I used to bite mine as well, then I started doing nail art. After spending 2 hours on a manicure, I stopped biting them pretty quick. (39 years of biting, nail art for 2 months, haven't bitten my nails in 2 years.) And keep nail files EVERYWHERE - I have them in my car, in my desk at work, in my husband's car, and I think I have one in each of my kids backpacks. A lot of people bite their nails more once they get a small chip in one - if you file it down, the urge to bite it smooth goes away.

Hey, just a heads up, don’t use Fimo clay. It’s pure crap. Use Hearty clay for a smooth finish, and Mermaid Puffy for more “fluffy” projects. Fimo breaks easily

using a base and topcoat helps a mani last longer. when you put on topcoat dont forget to do the very end of the tip of the nails, this will help prevent chipping at the top a great deal. i can wear a mani for about 2 weeks like this. if you have gel top coat it would probably be even better

For a home made dotting tool, I just cut the sharp tip off a toothpick. It's perfectly round and you can adjust the size depending how high you cut
