I have to say, Good job! I added a push button switch. I attached a female connector with 6 inch lead to the battery. I then attach the matching male connector to a budget trickle charger that I wired to the male connector. I got the plastic battery box with tie down on eBay. I’m going to add a rear combo (tail light, turn signal, license plate light and brake light) I ordered on EBay. Eventually, I’ll add the generator kit to the engine with a 12v rectifier to keep the battery charged.
@LifeWithSevenSons4 жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Sounds like you are stepping it up a level. I have thought about how to add turn signals and brake light. And I had no idea you could add an alternator to the engine to charge the 12v battery.

I’m researching it and finding out so far, some 6.5hp have internal charging. You can buy a kit for a 6.5hp if it doesn’t have one. It’s hard to find any mini bike in the Nashville area for sale and I just sold mine for $100 above what I had in it. Guy saw me working on it in my driveway and pulled out cash and bought it for his kid and left! Supply and demand! I might get a CT200

I think it's worth a shot! I think you'd need mirrors, headlight, tail light, signals, brake light. That would be a fun project to get it street legal.

Is it normal to pull the throtle really hard to get full speed out of it? Or does it supposed to be smooth n easy? Also when i let the throttle go mine slows down right away is that normal? Also does the tensioner leave mark from the chain? Mine does and i only have it for 2 days? Plz advise thank u in advance
@LifeWithSevenSons4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I have to firmly twist the throttle back to get it all the way. I've been thinking about adjusting it to be easier to pull. And yes, it slows down quite a bit when you throttle off. And yes, the tension roller shows some indication of where the chain rolls on it. Seems normal.

I'd also ensure that the bolt holding the front tire isn't too tight (as indicated in manual) as that can cause the front wheel to not spin freely.

@@LifeWithSevenSons Some motors come with a stator that produces 7 to 12 ac voltage depending on rpms. They have a voltage regulator / rectifier that converts ac to dc and a constant 12v dc no matter the rpm. The same system is how a riding mower charges its battery
@LifeWithSevenSons4 жыл бұрын
@@THECHOSENONE-bk7xg How would I find it on this engine? I kind of doubt it does since nothing on the bike is electric and it is a pull start motor.
@THECHOSENONE-bk7xg4 жыл бұрын
@@LifeWithSevenSons if it did not come with a headlamp originally the kit probably did not come with at stator on the motor. I bought a Coleman mini bike CT 200U -EX And it came with a headlamp. And it was a 2 wire coming out of the motor behind the pull start. If you really wanted to you could buy a stater kit . but then would still need a voltage regulator/rectifier and battery. But essentially it would be a recharging system after that

@TwoGunToast4 жыл бұрын
I definitely want to do something like this. How long does the battery last between charges?
@LifeWithSevenSons4 жыл бұрын
Honestly I haven't even measured the battery life. I have only charged it once since March. I ride it at night for maybe 10-15 minutes at a time occasionally. I'd guess you'd get 10-12 hours of power for these little lights. Depending on size of your battery and the LED draw, you can calculate, but I'm not that smart.
