A new report by Swissaid says that in 2022, 435 tonnes of gold were smuggled out of the African continent. A lion's share of the smuggled gold ended up in the UAE, where it was processed and re-exported to other parts of the world. Once gold is processed, most countries mark the processing country as the place of origin. In this way, African gold worth about $31 billion ended up getting smuggled out of the continent, and so it could not contribute to its source country's economy. Most of the smuggled gold came from artisanal mines, which can be unsafe, or run by militant groups who exploit people to fund their own activities.

Every single oil rich Arab country has a US military base on it. The West and Isreal benefit more from the oil, than the Arabs. The US uses the Gulf nations as military bases to attack and kill millions of Arabs in Iraq, Libya, Syria, Sudan, Gaza. The US and their allies make billions selling weapons to Saudis, UAE and other gulf nations resulting in a genocide in Yemen. The UAE has 5,000 US military personal stationed in their country. UAE is a puppet of Isreal. When Isreal made an agreement with the UAE, a Holocaust museum was built in UAE, which does not include the fact that the West and Isreal used chemcial weapons on Iraq, Libya, Syria but no one was prosecuted for these war crimes. Isreal which has allied with India, got the UAE to build a large Hindu temple in UAE, even though India has been destroying mosques in India. People need to do more research, instead of making up stereotypes.

They carry the gold and the stones it is mined in. What you call "smuggled" actually pays small holders. Have u ever wondered that Africa is the real choosen land of God??! What bullocks! The gold produced in artisanal mines could just as easily been sold to any refining agent dealing with the Rand Refinery in South Africa. Something seems really self serving about the authors of the study this story is based on.
