Just to clarify, what I mean is, Botnia haven't really actively styled this boat (in the way that maybe a Sunseeker is), its look is mostly a product of function. Nothing wrong with that of course, I agree it looks great.

Great Vlog👍! For a boat they intended to be function over style it's a beautiful boat! Two tone paint job, wood rails, the finish on the decks that not only adds a nice contrast it also cuts down the sin reflecting off a bright whitefloor, all the wood finished interior instead of just fiberglass surfaces, interior colors, plus being nicely appointed for it's size! I'd definitely take it! The angled windscreen is good for keeping down the water beading on it from waves splashing and as a sunshade/glare stopper, but it also keeps it from looking like just some shrimp/fishing boat! Nice choice for a video, and cool that there was another right beside it to show options! Love the wide variety of boats that you do!

Just love these "real" boats. In Scandinavia and Finnland many people live out on an island so your Targa (or Buster) is your mode of transportation to go to work or do your weekly shopping. For this you need a real boat not one that you cannot use if there is a bit of rain or snow. Full on propper boats that - I feel - are very stylish, indeed. Glad to see, "the pole" was not fitted to this one here, just avoids all the "funny jokes". Great video as always, Nick.

"A Few Thoughts": She's not 'cute'... She's PERFECT...! Form follows function. It all starts with the D-section fenders. Perfectly logical. The Aft Cockpit - All that's missing is a table to snack at. Removable pads for seating would be a nice touch, but it IS a 37 footer... The Flybridge is cool too, if for no other reason than the Bimini storage. LOVE the side decks. LOVE the 'comfort fore cabin' option. The reverse windscreens are ideal. And being able to walk thru water on the side decks and then into the helm, albeit on floor mats, is a testament to the utilitarianism of this beauty...! I want one. The seat back... GENIUS...! Look closer at the table... When open (operable), the finish is flawless. But the grain on the table itself... Yeah. Its craftmanship is spot on. The grain aligns perfectly! What's not to love about the galley - especially for a 37 footer...! NO GLOSS, yet an exquisite finish. This could comfortably accommodate 3 couples. But wait... A 40" TV on a 37 foot boat...?!?!? With a brilliant layout to enjoy it al in...? I friggin' LOVE IT...!!! So the table goes to the ceiling on a pole...? I see. Why would you possibly want a pole, in the center of a horseshoe-shaped settee, on a craft that can accommodate 2 couples and... TWO 'other friends'...? Just sayin'... The 2nd Cabin is the smartest part of the boat. Brilliant. 40 friggin' knots top end and 30 knots cruising...?!? Sweet Jesus! I CRAVE this gorgeous boat. And it's less the half a mill. Brown-bag it for 437 years, quit drinking good bourbon - and fast women, and maybe one day.......

I can see why Finnish people (and Scandinavian/Northern people in general) would rather have a very practical boat that is very seaworthy than a more relaxing/cruising/luxury yacht like those in the Mediterranean. Practical, fast, well thought out, great boat. P.S. love you presentation of their 47ft as well.
@tonygriffiths24854 жыл бұрын
Talk about functional. almost comical in immediate appearance, until reasoning why the foward looking wind screen points inwards. The rough seas will fall off that much quicker, I speculate. 40 knotts ? A real mover too, in rough waters ? I love it :) Especially the galley right next to the helm. Cosy in cold climates. You could do some serious fishing with that as well, I reckon. Love it even more then :) Thanks.

A great looking Targa 37, the black finish setting it off nicely, while the aft door really opens up the space. I used to own a Botnia Targa 30 and can testify to their amazing seakeeping, and practicality. The galley next to the helm was rubbish, and the stripper's pole on the dinette always got a laugh, but I don't think there are many better boats out there. Not bad value either for second hand Targa 27s or 30s. Wessex Marine in Poole have imported them for years and know them inside out.

Neat boat, surprised at the speed, 40 knots flat out is moving. Although I kind of wonder if you are better off with two or three big 300hp mercury outboards on this type of boat. Less initial cost, way easier/cheaper to service, you can tilt them out of the water when not in use, petrol is $1.50 a gallon cheaper than diesel in the USA. Would be interesting to have a thread crunching the numbers on boats with the same style hull/similar specs, see if you're better off with outboards or those nice volvo diesels.

Like a new Jeep from the late 70's - looking utilitarian, while presenting a polite demeanor dockside. Filled with nice surprises via the "unconventional" use of space. Galley reveled next to the helm for the proper preparation of a cruising cuisine - then POOF a Nav Station when the dishes are cleared. Same with the aft stateroom(s). And outside - easy to imagine a puffy down jacket with plaid scarf wrapped around face and ears while putting toward that secret, snow covered, pine filled island - ah, that fly bridge. I'm only a few million Markka short (OK, Euros)...

Practical as can be. I'd prefer the arch much much taller - at least 6' taller, hinged would be a trick too - to go under bridges. And I would make pads for that front cabin-roof area, for when the sun does come out. Fender storage cages too. I can see that up here on Lake Michigan. Most of the time it's easy sailing but there are times the adventure turns more desperate, and a sturdy trawler type inspires more confidence. Needs more refrigeration.
