I really hope Silverchair comes back, and making loud, heavy, depressing music. 'Cause that's what they did best 'til Neon Ballroom. I love reading the comments on silverchair videos cuz half the time they are from Brazilians? I’m not sure why they were big over there but it’s so great to see..... silverchair certainly had love here in Australia (did u notice this telecast was from our mtv equivalent “channel v” national “silverchair day” lol). I know Daniel has moved on musically, but I hope he knows how loved his band was. His music means so much to so many.

As a brazilian it strikes me too their popularity here. But I think i'ts because of MTV at the time. All their clips got lot of air time, and MTV had a lot of programs focused on clips not on reality shows. The Silverchair show in Rock in Rio is still remembered as one of the best which was their creative peak I think.

Everybody compares Silverchair to Nirvana and calls them copycats. First, I hear more of a Metallica's Black Album influence and Soundgarden on most of their work. Second, I think Kurt and Daniel have their own unique vocal styles. I feel Daniel's is more smooth and "pretty" and Kurt's is a lot more rugged and punky at times.
