Jojolion is the first time in the series when I simply can't ignore the amount of shit that was thrown away or flat out ignored, only to get us that rushed ending with Tooru the twat. SBR sure had some amounts of plot holes and bizarre writing, but everything is neatly tied together that you simply do not care. Jojolion flexes an incredible amount of good writing, interesting plot threads and characters, only for them to not be mentioned ever again or even worse, being brought up as a mince meat in the final arc where they accomplish next to nothing. Jojolion has the worst death scenes and antagonist in the whole series, while also being a mess from a consistent storytelling standpoint. Sure, it has some arcs and scenes that are so close to being the best we ever seen, but then it gets contradicted or thrown away like it never happened.

In early Star Trek, the organization that the USS Enterprise belongs to is actually called a few different things throughout the first season until they finally settled on Starfleet and the Federation. Trekkies have long since accepted that the producers just changed their mind and there is no United Earth Space Probe Agency in canon. That mindset I think is useful to the entire Araki Forgot discussion. He's never been afraid to basically contradict himself if it makes what he's writing more fun. Hence why Erina just completely failed to notice anything odd about the coffin. That attitude doesn't cover everything in Jojolion, but I think it's useful to keep in mind in our discussion and criticism of it. That said, the failure to show Dio properly is indeed an absolute failure and renders the part unreadable.

You know the reason the plot holes in JoJolion are so noticeable compared to other parts? Because it's a mistery story, in a mistery story the audience WILL try to pinpoint every detail to figure out the story maybe even before the story reveals the big secret, but in JoJoLion i think Araki's writhing style bit his but, it was quite obvious whenever he simply changed his mind about how something works or where he wanted the story to go. Really the flashforward is just the biggest plothole i think in all of JoJo history and it's so baffling just how terrible it was handled. Honestly while i overall liked JoJoLion i'm hoping Araki doesn't make part 9 about mistery again, it just doesn't seem to be his kind of story. PS: Kinda sad he didn't push more for Soft & Wet's ability, it had so much potential and was pretty unique

The ability to steal properties could had made it a lot like a strategic stand that had destructive power, like how Joseph Joestar uses Hamon or Part 4 Josuke used Crazy Diamond, or even how Jolyne used the fact that she could turn herself into string. These strategic stands that could punch or have destructive power are the best of JoJo stands because they represent all of what a stand could be, and they will be guaranteed to use the power well for the manga has to show just how versatile the stand is if it’s meant to a strategic stand and a punching stand. Instead it became an unstoppable force, which while continuing how Josuke uses his powers is one subtle stand shift I wish never happened.

I think some of the dropped plot points are fine, that kinda stuff happens in a series going on for 10 years. But the flash forward that never happened really was terrible. Because most of the other plotholes can be explained with, yeah, there is just some weird stuff happening that doesn’t have an explanation. That’s kinda cool mystery stuff. But the author choosing to give us a glimpse of the future without that future ever happing is just confusing and bad writing. Don’t do flash forwards if you can’t deliver on them. Ever.

A character saying "I'll see you again" or something similar does not cement them as a reoccurring cameo. 3. That is actually correct, for once. 4. It is not implied that the bite marks grant stands. The bite marks are a side effect of contact with the wall eyes. Josefumi and Kira both had stands, so Josuke would too. Yasuho has had her stand since she was a child which is shown in the flashback of her meeting Toru. 5. I haven't read One Piece, so I don't know what the "bounty system is", but what does that have to do with anything? How is that an "Araki forgot moment"? 6. Josuke could've used his bubbles to lift the car up, or Mamezuku could've used his stand to lift it like a pulley. 7. Yes, that's the point. It's supposed to be a mystery that you can interpret yourself. It may also be an example of the "blessings of the earth" that the rock humans are associated with. 8. Mamezuku clearly separates his body into threads inside the bubble, which prevented his death from the pressure. The bubble cleaves through his head before he can do anything. 9. A recurring theme in Jojolion is "the flow of calamity". This is said to be an all-encompassing universal law that carries negative energy and misfortune between people. Wonder Of U is such a powerful stand because it can manipulate this flow. The characters you show (Ojiro, Kei, Kaato) had become caught in the flow of Calamity because they returned to the story and became involved with Toru's plans. Additionally, that's not a plothole. It's just you making up flaws in the story's construction to complain about. 10. I don't see any issue with proportions in the part at all. The artstyle is one of the best in the series. It is totally unreasonable to assume that an artist who needs to finish entire chapters of hyper-detailed, interesting and exciting artwork will make absolutely no mistakes. 11. Wireless headphones were invented in 1958. 12. That's just the image Araki chose to draw. Jojolion's run was from 2011 - 2021, why wouldn't he use the 2016 cover? 13. That is commonly assumed to be an early design for another character. 14. Josefumi's birthmark may be because he is a descendant of Johnny's daughter. Don't jump to the conclusion that anything you don't understand is a plothole. 15. Yes, he could've. But he didn't. 16. Josuke wouldn't've had time to attend school after finding out about Holly and the rock humans. 17. Yes, something does come of it. Besides foreshadowing the rock insects later on in the story, it illustrates how rock humans are integrated amongst human society and live among people unnoticed. 19. What does this even mean? Araki didn't forget anything, that's just a personal complaint from you. 20. When does Tsurugi teleport anyone? This never happens in the story at all. 21. The baby washes up the same day Johnny dies. With the running theme of equivalent exchange in the story, it is implied that Johnny's death (misfortune) is equivalently exchanged for the baby's life being saved (good fortune). 22. I'm not sure what your point is. 23. Kaato had a branch stored in her cards. She wouldn't've done this if she had no prior understanding of how the exchange worked. 24. When would it be brought up again? It's just background about the rock humans. No plot relevance. 25. Incorrect. Their birth involves the wasps, their maturation is what you're referring to with the "sleeping poses" page. 26. He is classified there to show how far gone from "human" he is. He is not a rock insect, nor is it stated that he is. 27. It is stated that the new Locacaca will not regrow once harvested. One fruit was used to heal Kira, and the other one is the one in the orchard. 28. What? 29. Yotsuyu's eye film may be a product of his ability. Iwasuke phasing through walls could be a hint that he is a stand user, or just a rock creature ability. 30. You make literally no point. He "forgot how momentum works"? How so? Even if you can explain what you mean, it is likely that physics and momentum will bend to the will of Calamity in order to cause harm. 31. He does not aim Go Beyond bubbles. The panel you showed while making this point literally disproves what you're saying. He uses his stand to hit the bubble and knock it roughly in the direction he wants. 32. Because he just... does. When it's shown again after the final battle, (in context) it dispels the confusion the reader may have. Please stop regurgitating nonsense that people claim is proof that "Araki forgot" something, and think for yourself.

Jojolion is enjoyable and is by no means the worst part of Araki but man was his inconsistencies really strong on this part. It also doesn't help that since he wanted it to be a mystery it fails really bad at that since mysteries work best when the clues lid you to the answer but since Araki just changes the story the clues really just show conflicting answers. Still a really enjoyable part but I do like how you showed the mistakes.

@@madtitan4892 I never called it an inconsistency. Just that she disappears for practically the entire story. I get there is a reason, but it hurts that we don't get more from the character. I suppose we got spoiled by previous part's casts getting a lot of moments throughout the story. Whereas part 6 it feels like half of the cast doesn't get enough good moments throughout in the same vein. It has nothing to do with the quality of the plot, but merely disappointment that the character gets sidelined when they had potential for more. It's like how fans keep making stories about Fugo, because he didn't get enough screentime but made a really good impression that you want more. And besides all that, even though she was hospitalized by her injuries, enough time passed that Araki could have said she healed up earlier, or given her more to do after she did come back. It's been awhile but I don't remember Hermes doing anything significant after coming back. I'm not the type to call that bad writing, I like Hamon Beat's videos, and I'm not saying the part is the worst because of the side characters not getting main character treatments. I'm saying Araki did a good job getting us invested in even the side characters and that I wish he gave some of them more moments. I think most parts do this really well, but part 6 and 8 feel like the cast isn't as well explored. We get plenty of time with the main Jojo and 1 or 2 other main characters, but then there are several others barely used. Take Kakyoin, of the crusaders you could argue he is the least prominent member for most of the story, but he has a lot of smaller moments throughout and then when he comes back he gets a moment in a stand battle and then a huge impactful moment in the final battle. So that gives him just enough to not feel underused. Hermes just could have used few more moments near the end, maybe participate in 1 more battle before the final one.

Part 8 ended after Damo Tamaki and the identify reveal for Jusuke. The rest was Araki just giving us extra content taking place after part 8. Also I gathered the bite marks had a connection to the Final chapters and Tooru adding rock animal defenses. Wall-eyes might be as well, though I'm still attributing them to Johnny's body being a saint.

The spinning string thing was actually explained. After the fight with that doctor guy who had the virus stand, Mamezuku finds a piece of Josuke’s bubble, which he thinks is a spinning string. It makes sense that he’d be able to deduce this because of his ability to turn himself into string, so he’s familiar with strings.
