4430 engine tear down

the 4430 is getting a complete rebuild, engine, hydraulic, electrical, powertrain and cab is all getting rebuilt. not a correct restoration, things like the lights will be LED, the injection pump will get updated and the aneroid system will get deleted, the cab interior will be updated with a 50 series air vents, an insulated dash and get rid of them steel pieces, a power strip will be added for adding monitors,

Yup.. the 3/8 rattling bolts in manifolds has always worked well!! Tubing wrenches are about the only thing in most cases.. I've made just a few wrenches for different things... Good to see you working in the new shop Jon!!!👍😁

Ed I think that most of us that do a lot of wrenching probably have 1 full drawer of specially made wrenches in the toolbox!!

One of the good things about metric sockets, if you have a bad bolt head or nut a metric you can pound on and you more then likely will get them off!!

Nice teardown. Almost makes me want to take an engine apart. There's something nice about working on engines that you just don't get with other mechanical work.

i always get nervous to start an engine. lol. but to hear them run is like the first time all over again. the proud moment when you realize that it is running good.

Engine tear downs are my favorite. Stopped by to say hello! Hopefully Shane’s 4320 isn’t too badly injured!!! Will be nice to get it and the other tractors going again!!!

How come you keep walking over & smacking us? What did we do wrong? Which one of us had the Smart aleck comment? Was it Wes? Shouldn’t you build a bench or a work table first? Maybe some shelves? I’m surprised the wife hasn’t set up a little bar in the new place so she can serve you some nice refreshments. Those wives always lagging behind.

@@jonstevensmaplegrovefarms3754 I built my bench out of big shipping pallets i got for free. All 2x6”. Worked out great. Very strong. Maybe keep an eye out for something like that.

i think you will like my bench. one kid made it at wifes work and they were going to recycle it. 4x4 aluminum legs and bottom, 2x2 aluminum top frame, then a 1/8" ? thick top, he tried to do it in a way that the top is finished to the table, they had to involve the brake press in there project, so he made a channel around the perimeter facing in for a clean look.
