I think that content creators often don't receive enough appreciation so here it goes: I really appreciate how much effort you put into your videos (from filming to editing, to even correcting yourself in the final edit through on-screen text) and how much you care about your community (the price breakdown for the Japan video was pretty awesome and detailed, more than any sort of article that you could find). Your videos are really fun to watch and that casual humour always hits the spot. Thank you for still uploading through the pandemic and for all the care you put into your content. Hopefully, we can all travel safely once again soon. Cheers!

This video has made me so nostalgic in the best way possible. During our year in Japan, it was truly the accumulation of all the small things that made the entire experience one that we will never forget or have anywhere else in the world.

Loved this video!!! It compiles all the magical unique things about a place that makes it so special.. that’s why even you might have seen so many pictures and videos about a place nothing compares to actually being there.. that being said your videos are the closest I’ve ever been to Japan!! And you guys have 100% convinced me to pay a visit to this country 💕

Yes, they do have vending machines in the remotest areas, and since most streets in Japan do not have names, these vending machines serve as navigational landmarks . So if you have an emergency, simply dial 1-1-9 and give the serial number of the vending machine printed on its front and an ambulance, fire truck or police can determine your exact location.

I'm sure there is a word for this compulsion for the smallest conveniences .In your case it's Nippophile - a love for all things Japanese . I came across many acts of etiquette when I was in London including an attendant at a Metro station who went to extraordinary lengths to guide me to Sadler W .But yes, the Japanese are the masters when its comes to detailing - it's almost like milking the last drop out or leaving no stone unturned .Great collection SM .

Fantastic video on Japan! To buy cigarettes from those vending machines, you need a specific ID card called "Taspo," short for "tobacco passport," to prove your legal age. However, anyone can buy cigarettes and alcohol at convenience stores without any ID. Come visit Japan again!

I will be going to Japan next year, from mid March to the first couple of days of April. Your videos are so welcome, and useful in this planning phases. Hey Rebecca thank you. Both our trips to Japan were end of march for two weeks so basically what you see in the videos is close to what you would have, assuming you’re going to the same places. So t shirt with some layers and a coat would cover you for most situations.

The most “foreign place” to you as a westerner because Japan doesn’t bow down to western tourists influences like many countries in South East Asia. There is barely any western style bars playing cheesy western music and full of drunk westerners. Think Bali, Phuket and Boracay. Westerners like those places not because of the local cultures, it’s because they can enjoy a western living style at a cheap price
