So many things in life are common sense ❤️ Have a blessed day. Yes don’t ignore mental health especially these days

Laughter is uplifting, more than anything else I find. It really does lift your spirits. So does a nice sunny day. Try to plan nice things to do during winter in those long gloomy days. That's when depression can easily overtake you. Make sure you don't lose touch with people in your life. Regret is the worst thing ever, as you can't turn back the clock.

I am staying home alone this year during Christmas holidays and each evening I call or text somebody whom I think might be going it alone too. I have had such great chats that way! And now have plans to visit in person after the holidays.😊

Stop chalking everything up to "being old" Many people much younger have issues, aches, pains, concerns. Live your best life and don't give to what some in society say you should feel and be like.

It's because many older people more than younger give up on themselves and become far too dependent on others.

@ yes that’s one of the worst things you can do unless you absolutely have to lean on someone else. My husband’s mom is getting weaker because she stays in her chair so much although there’s nothing technically wrong with her, but the doctor says she needs to walk she needs to move.

@@deb9806 Tell her to come with me. I took my first skydive for my 70th birthday. Totally awesome! I began ziplining at age 65. I'm totally afraid of heights, but like to challenge myself. I screamed the entire first time. Now I look forward to it. I'll be heading down to St. Augustine where I hear they have a marvelous line that goes directly over the zoo. I had planned on going a couple of years back, but lockdowns got in the way. 😏

@@deb9806she’s depressed. Her family can help spark her interest in something. Only takes a couple of hours a week once they say yes. It’s the “yes” that will be the challenge.

I agree Deb. 60 is the new 40! Besides, age is just a number and chronological age is entirely different from real age. As you say, there are many much younger people who have serious health issues, aches and pains. Attitude is everything. Certainly, if over 80, for example, one may wish to take certain precautions, but 60!!!

One thing to be aware of is that research is linking bifocal and trifocal glasses to increase the risk of falls because they blur your vision of what’s going on in front of your feet when walking, stairs, and step stools…I didn’t believe it but I tested it and it’s true…tilt your head down enough so the step depths aren’t blurry, also practice going up and down stairs with a handrail and little well built stepladders with your eyes closed to strengthen your sense of balance, touch, and physical movement, stay healthy❣️

I’ve done stretching exercises and weights for a long time. But that ground to a halt yesterday when I tested positive for Covid. First time in almost five years. Go figure. And of course it coincides with my cancer treatments. UGH! But this too shall pass and I’ll be back at it.
