Love love love this!!! I just really went through a divorce and have been left with nothing. I am a highly creative person, who use to be a high school Art Teacher for 23 years. You have inspired my new journey to make my new space my own. I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning. I love your story, your vibe and spunk. You and Nemin are the cutest. I found a dresser at Goodwill for $25 in very good shape but had no clue what to do next. I binge watched a few of these channels but came back to yours because you are easier to follow through the process. A few takeaways from my 1st project...cleaning/prepping may be the most important step, the need for 360 degree lighting/garage too dark and to get as comfortable as you can ergonomically as you do this with all the bending, stooping and stretching....continued success and you have motivated me to find a couple small pieces and rework them..

When applying fabric, I spray it with a liquid starch and water solution, then smooth it onto the wood. It will stay put until you choose to remove it. You can easily peel it off. I think I would have ironed that fabric with steam to flatten it out before applying, but the dresser came out beautiful and the wrinkles seemed to somehow magically disappear. You always come through. I like that you can easily adapt to any problems, and quickly change course when needed.

I love the way this dresser turned out! I’ve painted fabric before and one thing that really helps is to dampen the fabric you are painting prior to the first coat. It helps the fabric absorb the paint. I wonder if that would have helped when it came time to stick it on the drawer and smooth it out. I will have to try it!
@justdi33472 жыл бұрын
Hi Lauren! This came out AMAZING! I have seen some paint pours which were beautiful in their own right but this one just stands out so much for me. I love that you only did it on a few of the drawers which didn't make it so busy. Love it. I have to check out the ladies you mentioned to see their work, I have never seen their channels. I love your enthusiasm and such attention to detail how you go through the process for any one who wants to try it. Thank you for sharing.

A friend gave me her entertainment stand with a built in electric fireplace a couple months back. It was rough. Big water blisters on the surface and some swelling. With some sanding, wood fill and chalk paint it now looks amazing! My friend said it looks better than when she originally purchased it new. I wasn't allowed to sell this one lol

For the fabric wrinkles: you can use a straight pin or safety pin to poke little holes in the air bump and then work the air out/ flatten the wrinkle. This works best while the glue is still wet usually. But it really helps a lot!

I watched each video of the 12 Days of Flipmas and watched the review vid too. All three of you have become such a team of creators! Thanks to Harrison & Neiman for your (unseen) obvious contributions to the success of FFT. I'm old enough to be your mom so I have an automatic response of GO TEAM and I'm proud of you all. I've watched you for the past 2 years and have been inspired and learned from you. I've redone some a couple pieces of furniture for my office & home - 2023 may be the year I flip to sell :) Happy New Year & best wishes!

I love that dresser, it was just beautiful when you finished it. I’ve been flipping furniture in Australia for about five years and I’m glad you added that piece at the end of the video to say that our time and effort is worth every cent. If we were doing this in a factory we would be paid a whole lot more per hour so why shouldn’t we get the same at home. You’ve come so far, I’ve been following you almost from the beginning and I’ve loved every video. Keep up the amazing work! 👍

One thing to be aware of- some water based primers can block for a year or so and then stain or tannins bleed through. I use Zinser BIN with shellac in it for this reason. It is found at the blue and the orange box stores. I’ve never used the new primers you’ve used so I can’t say if those have longevity or not.

That is an amazing makeover! Watching this makes me think about doing something like that to an old 3 drawer dresser that I have in my kitchen that I've been using for extra storage. Don't want to get too in over my head though. I still am planning to paint my kitchen cupboards instead of replacing them, lower a darker blue and white uppers.
