Looks like the stock one to me on 2016 models onwards, I’ve got a 2017 sti also and want to upgrade, Idoing seem popular plenty of videos of people fitting them but I think I’d rather a Sony or alpine personally

@@luiscordero8944 I haven’t looked into it yet tbh but I want as big a screen as possible, I dislike the ones on the standard 2014 and 2015 tiny screen big dash surround, I got a feeling we’re in different countries so even if I found a model number I doubt you would have the same where you are unfortunately

Yes. No CEL either bro

The dp will give cel, it’s just different from car to car. Some get one in 60 miles some get one in 5k miles. In any case it’s not a big deal if you do get a cel.

390 whp? Was that on a dynojet or mustang? Also 93 oct or e85? Surprised you didnt go equal length headers, even though theyre not necessary they do make more power up top

91 on dynojet. Ideally wanted to go ELH with external wastegate but ultimately decided against it

It made 393 on a mustang but the power is all up top lost alot of low end and midrange, and the killerb headers add so much drone, even with stock downpipe. Really wished couldve stayed oem header. Also thinking of swapping out for a cobb 20g the blouch spools so slow

⁠@@blueeyesstidon’t blame you man. I will be honest, I don’t recommend building STI’s or EJ’s in general after going through this process. They’re extremely expensive to get power out of, and yeah power is all up top, major boost lag. Because of this, my 0-60 time was actually slower than my stage 2 stock turbo FA WRX. I was pretty bummed.

In the future are you gonna do aftermarket UEL or ELH?

Hows the response of the turbo? Does it feel really laggy compared to the factory VF48. For a daily driver, i want the car to feel torquey and responsive when rolling through the gears.

The boost lag is real. Not much down low at all

@mikeymodsit2152 dang....that's disappointing to hear. Even though its a ball-bearing turbo, sucks to hear it doesn't have the low-end response that I feel like is a necessity. I bought the turbo over a year ago, just waiting for the appropriate time to install. Now I'm second guessing this turbo choice.

so the reason why we can hear turbo noises like that is because of ball bearing? (am a noob, trying to learn)

You can hear the turbo whistle through the exhaust more because of the catted downpipe and modified Catback exhaust

you would be surprised how much difference an exhaust will make. with just an axle back you can hear turbo at idle, and very low speeds on a WRX. the more restricted air flow the quieter it is.

oh yea for sure. but i think to get sick turbo spool noises, you need a ball bearing one@@haetfull

Spool noise out of the exhaust comes from no mufflers/resonators and a high flow or catless downpipe
