@@seelenwinter6662, this girl, Kala Rose, did a couple things very right in her voice to convey the song better than the original band if you ask me. 46 and 2 is about the genetic code that reveals we are just a chromosomal fusion away from being a part of the ape kingdom and yet the belief is that the next movement will go into supposedly a better iteration than what we are now. Thus there is a aspect of the lesser within and the better to come... I don't know about you, but her voice carried the emotion of the song better than the original band. I listened to her cover of "Pull me Under" and was completely unimpressed, but hearing the song "Revelation" by her band Saving Escape (doubt me and listen to the acoustic version) and she reveals that ability to move from style to style or feel to feel within the same song, just as she did here. She is worth keeping tabs on for sure.

Hey guys🙋🏽♂️ My second comment on this vid. From watching how passionate and excited Kel can get on some of the vidz I've watched I knew immediately when I saw that you were doing a reaction video for the O'Keefe Music Foundation's cover of 46 & 2 that you both would absolutely love it and that it would generate some intense emotions from you both. The fact that these kids perform not just some cookie cutter old school rock songs but some seriously complicated and intricate progressive hard rock songs that musicians many years their senior can't come close to doing speaks volumes about the mentorship that goes on at OMF. 🌴🌞🌴

Alicia Encaderada. Yes I have seen lots of people who like the cover version more. Although you and I aren't making such a claim. I have seen people say that.
@amorodioamor43885 жыл бұрын
The idea of a cover is to do it different than the original. Maybe faster or slower etc. To simply try and do it the same your not bringing anything new. You might add parts or take some out. I think the kids did that.
@escaleraalcielo69905 жыл бұрын
Exactly. A cover is intended to be different not the same. Not note for note. It might be an acoustic version. It might be an acoustic song changed electric. It might be in a lower voice or a higher voice. Such as disturbed doing sound silence. Or Van Halen playing girl you really got me in with new style. No matter what you will find people who prefer one version over another. Although there none said it was better but rather that some prefer the cover.

Hey guys🙋🏽♂️ I actually prefer this cover by OMF (O'Keefe Music Foundation) to Tool's original version which I don't believe I can say about any other song. The young girl who so superbly handles the vocals is Kala Rose who now has her own band comprised of all OMF grads, the name of her band is "SAVING ESCAPE" and is absolutely phenomenal, they just recently dropped their first album. The music of SAVING ESCAPE is an amalgamation of old school hard rock, mellow rock with more than a hint of psychedelia thrown in for good measure, I really think you both would dig it. When you both have some extra time(😂) you should really check out OMF's complete library of superbly done cover songs of some of the more complex/progressive bands...sometimes doing a large amount of songs by the same artist/band. I don't really understand the whole hashtag thing but will try in the future to comply with your requirement of using a # when requesting a song. The song I'm talking about is also from OMF and also a Tool song called "The Pot". OMF does 4 or 5 versions of The Pot all completely different from each other, the one I'm referring to is "The Pot version #1" sung by another young girl by the name of Anna. 💥💥I do realize that I can get long winded in my comments so at anytime either one of you feel it's becoming a problem please tell me. I can get pretty passionate when it comes to talking about music. Music brought my wife and I together and was a main component of our relationship and even after losing her (and our unborn daughter) years ago I feel that the music still keeps us connected (I know it sounds crazy) so that's why I can sometimes get long winded, it's more like I'm having a conversation rather than just leaving a comment.💥💥
