have checked with a machine shop, they said $180 for crankshaft and $20 per connecting rod. So, this well known technic saves some money. Great Vid

180 for just a polish ? Sounds like gave you a price to turn it .010 under.

I always been told to make sure the sandpaper makes 2 revolutions each pull so 2 in 1 direction then 2 back the other way then repeat and so on. But I guess u prove that isn't absolutely necessary here, good to know
@Dragracer645 жыл бұрын
That would be hard to do. Every one has their own preference. Thanks for watching.

@@Dragracer64 Nah not much different other then arms wearing down a little faster lol. I just use a longer string, about 18-24" on each side. But I only been doing it cause that's how I was always taught lol. Now that I know i see its not absolutely necessary I won't be so paticular about it and in return will make it easier on the brain lol

You are getting 1.99 on a 2.5 rod bearing? I would have expected 2.488 or so on a .010 crank? Are you running a different than stock size rod?
@Dragracer642 жыл бұрын
This video was filmed a long time ago,and I am not sure if I mentioned that this crank is a 460 ford crank, offset ground to a 4.140 stroke. The diameter ends up being big block chevy rod journal size.

Hows the engine running ? How many miles on it now?
@Dragracer645 жыл бұрын
The race track closed by the time I got it running. I don't drive it on the street, so I go by 1/8th mile passes, not miles. Thanks for watching.

You'll have uneven bearing wear, premature failure, or spinning the bearing.
