Heath gives an excellent lesson on how to drive a vehicle under slippery surface conditions at 2:02 Things to pay close attention to here are: 1) He doesn't turn the steering wheel any more than absolutely necessary. 2) When the tires start to spin slow down and stop them from spinning. 3) If you can't make any more progress, reverse direction for a few feet and then try again. 4) Maintain or increase momentum when you can but slow and steady is better than out of control.

My dad died of cancer when I was 12 he paid for everything with cash from his factory job he drove to 6 days a week an hour each way half day on Saturday so his 6 kids didn't have to grow up in the city in 1969 he paid cash for a 69 Pontiac Catalina 400 cubic inch dark green metallic. I've been friends with people that could sell someone their own trash back but I can't probably due to my dad saying always treat others better than yourself because a clean conscious is better than a profit. I understand each side if someone wants to pay so be it I'm just not a wheeler dealer and honestly don't think I want to be. I have always paid well below market for all the accumulated Dodge's in disarray scattered on 3 properties in 2 states yes I'm a hoarder but if need be a profit could be made on any of the Dodge's
@garybaris1393 жыл бұрын
@@1STGeneral I don't honestly understand the immediate assumption that wheeling & dealing is dishonesty. If you find an item being sold at below market value and you buy it to resell it at market value, that's wheeling and dealing. What part of that is dishonest and what part of that bothers your conscience? If you buy up vehicles and break them up for parts which you sell off at market related prices and so doing double your money, that's wheeling and dealing and no part of it is dishonest. If you buy a vehicle that has been neglected at a good price that is in line with its worth in that condition and you fix it up and sell it at the new price which is in line with its better condition, that's wheeling and dealing and no part of that is unethical or dishonest. Nowhere in any part of this video did he suggest being dishonest was what he did nor that he thought it was acceptable.
@morganandreason3 жыл бұрын
I think the phrase "wheeling and dealing" has different meanings depending on your location and/or social circles. When you look up a dictionary definition, you get things like this: "to try to make a profit or get an advantage using clever or complicated methods and often deceiving people or breaking the usual rules: He spends his time wheeling and dealing on the stock exchange".

Hi Guys, Another great slice of life. Thank you for taking me along on your journey. I wish you were closer. I have an 84 Cutlass Calais with very low mileage, that was in an accident. This vehicle was a very special order. It took 9 months before the company manufactured her. It has 36 extras, including factory tee top, 5lt engine, fiber optic. Tow package with all upgrades. And a lot more. It saved my life 3 times. IT TRULY HAS A SOUL. I refuse to junk her. She has no rust, and deserves to be restored. Tears are flowing down, how I 💘 my black beauty. In fact, she was at one time on the internet as the,classic of the month with antique insurance. But, I had to change insurance, as she was my only vehicle. I'm still in litigation with insurance company, who couldn't care less. She needs someone like you, to bring her back to life and beauty. She deserves it. 😢 😢 😢 😢 😢. I 💘 her.

When they finally agreed to get this engine, my father ended up calling them to see if they had one more engine, and ordered one also. But without a lot of the other extras. It was one of the last Calais they manufactured.That's why my X ordered the Chilton book on her.

I see that alot of people here do not understand why Heath spends time and money on these old trucks. Many may not realize that there's alot more money to be made in these old square bodys than most people realize, Especially when you know how to work on them yourself and wheel and deal with them the way Heath does. He has done some great jobs on them in the past. I'm sure there are more pressing issues to be completed at any given moment, but doing things like tinkering with these old trucks probably help keep him from getting burned out on the monotonous daily routines.

Today I finished the 4.5 gallon racing gas tank so now I can get it ready to start up. The engine is new in every respect except for the original castings for the head and cases. Pistons, valves valve springs with titanium retainers, cam regrind by Delta cams, Amal 30mm carbs all new and ready to fire up.

When you get around to choosing window coverings, take a look at cellular blinds. They trap the cold air from outside in the winter and the hot air in the summer, amazingly insulating. They aren't the least expensive option but not the most expensive either. If you 'special order' them, you can choose from different colours to go with each room while every one of them will match from the outside. I call them "self-dusting" because nothing "sticks" when opening and closing them. That's a bonus, eh?! With love from Canada

I'll be looking forward to the cummins build. It's a special truck, glad you're gonna take your time with it

Just watching you working on the trucks, one inside and the other on pavement has to be really good for you. Trying to jack things up on stones isn't easy and even dangerous. Good to see things slowly improving for you all. When you ran out of water did you pump water out of your well up to the tank(s)? I can remember in a really early video that you might have secured some water source up hill from you. Is that still a viable source of water? Stay warm!

Cool that you are on the list for Starlink. I hope you get it and share how the performance is. We have a cabin in northern Wisconsin, and I'm on the list, but probably much lower. Satellite internet is our only choice too.
