In this video I use the ‪@Kubotatractorcorp‬ U35-4 mini excavator to stack and cut a huge pile of logs to make room for more!

Those hook truck dumpsters are the bees knees! We have a couple at work and they can hold a lot of logs!

Jake. Glad to see you installed the battery disconnect, it will be a game changer when it comes time to start the truck. I know you are all about efficiency, next time grab a large log when you move the excavator over to the splitter shelter. Your yard is looking great and love all the back saving equipment.

Years ago we found a high-resistance ground connection on our airplane engine starter. I was dropping over 3 volts across the ground connection, so only a little over 9 volts was available to the starter motor. Went from barely able to turn over to a raging windmill. Huge win!! Really liking the new workflow you have going. Full disclosure, I'm pretty jealous. 😄

Yep that’ll do it! In my case the a ground nut on the tranny was cross threaded creating the illusion that it was tight, low and behold it was not and was arcing the wire and finding ground through the steel braid in the power steering hose…thank you for watching, I am very fortunate!

Hickory is great in a smoker, you might be able to get a premium on totes of hickory if you see regular quantities of it.

Something to think about would be putting a trailer hitch on the blade on the excavator and then hooking a trailer in front of the excavator loading six or seven logs on it and then moving it to the processing area cutting it off of the trailer that way you’re not cutting on the ground and it gives you the ability to move more than one log at a time with the excavator
@DudeRanchDIY
@DudeRanchDIY 3 ай бұрын
Yep that could definitely work, but since I have the tractor it’s easier to just use that to move several logs at a time

We welded a pintle hitch on the blade of our cat 305 mini and we have a 2228 as well and it works great for moving the splitter around. can really put it wherever you want.

Hey man I’m having a problem that sounds identical to yours how did your friend get to the bottom of it. I’ve got something draining my battery and hard starts because of it. What was his method of diagnosing? Also great video glad you seem to be ahead on the wood! My woodyard is full too!

Once I replaced the batteries, installed the cut off switch, and started trickle charging with the solar panel and the truck still would barely start I knew it had to be a bad ground or connection somewhere because I had ruled out all the other factors. When I brought it to my friends shop I asked him to check all the grounds as a starting point simply because I had no idea where they all were. I’d check all your major electrical grounds and connections to start.
