So he took you to Dakshineshwar, it's the home of the saint Ramakrishna Paramahansa Dev, and his disciple was Swami Vivekananda (if you know who he is, I'm sure you do he's famous). Swami Vivekananda was the guy who took Hinduism to America at the Religious Conference of Chicago, 1893. And then if you know about ISKON, the founders of ISKON were also brought up in this place amd they were all disciples of Ramakrishna Dev

Aaaaaaaaaaargh. Ramakrishna was a Shakta, the ISKCON people are directly descended (theologically) in a guru-parampara that goes back to Madhvacharya, the man who was dissatisfied with Advaita Vedanta of Shankaracharya, the Visishtadvaita of Ramanujacharya, and preached his own, Dvaita Vedanta. Shankaracharya was Saivite, Ramanujacharya and Madhava were both Vaishnavite, and Ramakrishna was Shakta. Three completely different ways.

Great video! I've been following you since the start of Covid lockdown, but I am really enjoying these recent city and the hotel tours. Anyone can go the Taj hotel or Oberoi hotel and show a $200+/night or the cheapest hotel. But this $50ish price range is really beneficial for alot of us travellers to come to India and know you can get something comparable to a western country, but not break the bank. keep it up!!!

Next time stay at the Oberoi in the city center. It's out of this world old charm and in the center of the market district. It's a bit more expensive but well worth it for charm and location. Enjoy Kolkata it's a wonderful city and a great heritage center. Glad you could get to the Kali temple. It's the site of some of the most influential contemporary Indian spiritual figures (both men and women). Ramakrishna had a number of disciples that travelled the world and we're very influential in bringing eastern spirituality to the west.

You ate your biryani at Metiabruz. That's where the last Nawab of Oudh, the only prince in India whom the British called King, so the King of Oudh, Wajid Ali Shah, was allowed to settle after they grabbed his kingdom and removed him from ruling. The biryani you get in Calcutta/Kolkata is essentially a derivative of Lucknow biryani, and came out of the royal kitchens after this re-settlement. The key element is the potato; some say it was taken up to make the biryani cheaper than the full-bodied Lucknow version, but now it's become a feature.

Not bad, bro, After languishing in tamilnadu with not many subscribers and looking for cheap eats and cheap travel options, you have graduated to become more subscribers ( 100K congrats) and now you are not scrounging like before. The coffers are overflowing with $ or Rupees (???) that you are now splurging. Can't wait to see what happens when you hit 250k, or 500k subscribers. I have seen, In USA there are Malls Shopping Complex like Home Deport, etc where people do stay in Large Queue about 1-2kms during Covid and I We compare it with India there are many Shops and Even same Shopping Centres and we can go there to avoid rush as per needs, Does it mean that small shopping centres are Missing In USA, Sir Do a Video on this topic .
