I've been hearing so many negative reviews about the pixel fold. I am holding one right now and I am loving it! I really believe that if you love the pure Android pixel experience then you're going to love this phone. What I really like about it is that it's a phone that truly turns into a tablet. The Galaxy z fold is really a phone that just expands into a bigger phone. What I really like about this device is that I don't have to unfold this device to really use it. On the z fold I had to open the device to use it and I didn't like that. As far as the battery life. I've been using this phone since 7:00 a.m. and I am still at 20% battery life it is currently 8:18 EST. I believe the design of this phone is to use the front screen the majority of the time and use the unfolded screen when necessary and I think that's how the battery is optimized for this device.

Just like my fondness for the Duo, people who review phones as only the most basic communicator devices are probably gonna completely miss the point. I feel comfortable delivering a positive first impression, but with the caveat that folding tablets are SUPER niche devices.

Agreed and the bad comments are mostly about the fold screen I think it's nice and the small crease let me feel safer opening and closing as I please. The app configurations will def come later for now it's still great. In hand better than the fold4

Honestly, if you're following a large North American creator anything that's not Samsung or Apple is almost always uniformly dismissed or criticized heavily. There's a million variables including audience capture, the algorithm, personal bias, and of course occasionally justify criticisms of the devices. But it's predictable like clockwork, no matter what the pixel fold was when it was finally released the big reviewers were going to trash it. A lot of these reviewers are getting flown around the world by Samsung to attend events, and early access to Samsung products is basically indispensable to have a growing tech channel in the North American audience

the pixel fold and galaxy fold have the same internal screen, just folded on a different orientation, and the way that its folded on the pixel gives you a 16:9 cover screen, or a 4:3 inner screen which is two 16:9 screens when divided. and for that reason im fairly sure that samsung wanted the same aspect and orientation as the pixel fold, but made it so it opens in portrait instead of landscape because of how many apps dont like being in landscape. but google defines the rules of android and can force app makers to support landscape.

Watching this on my Duo 2. The Pixel Fold gets a lot of things right; but, Android apps simply aren't ready for the tablet format screen of the Pixel Fold. Samsung's implementation with the Z Fold4 is better suited for the here-and-now of Android. However, the Duo 2 is the PERFECT compromise between the Pixel Fold and the Z Fold4. The 3:2 aspect ratio on the Duo 2 gives you two tall and wide screens, with apps launching to fill the whole screen. And when you want to span apps, you can. The Duo 2 is such an intelligent design, both hardware and software. Add in the digital pen, which is completely absent on the Pixel Fold, you have an incredible device. So wish Microsoft released the Duo 3 as an improved Duo 2.

I find KZbinrs comparing a 1st gen device to a 5th gen device. As a tech fan I cry foul! The SG Fold had a ton of issues when it first launch. I love the Pixel Fold and Motorola RAZR+ 2023. I want to see what the One Plus Open looks like on launch. It is great to see a KZbinr still highlighting the pros of the Microsoft Duo(A Classic).

in the comics app, if you change the book settings where you'd change font, then you do in fact get the two page screen. it's my favorite part of the pixel fold. it let's me read like the duo did but gives the the best of Samsung folding too. I'm loving my pixel fold so far.

I am so tired of switching between my MSI GV72 laptop and my Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 as there are some functions and programs on Windows I would rather not be without (PhotoShop and the likes). Apple is not an option as it would be too expensive. So a Windows Tablet is the way forward. But which one? I value you opinion and knowledge a great deal so please advice me? Benny in Denmark.

I really like the surface and the robo and kala, but then you need to do a break down on what apps and services you use on Android, and if they are easy to install on a Windows tablet. I really think it's important for folks to do an accounting of what they use, not just ask about the hardware 😊

Z fold good for one hand use.every time somebody bring us pixel outer screen they say its like a reg phone. Idk how about get a reg phone. Duo would be perfect if it had a outer screen and had flex mode

The coolness factor for folded devices has died down since they hit the market 5 years ago. So I don't really see any reason for getting it unless it's a niche market for practical uses.

I think ipad mini also have same issue right. Screen with 7-9 inches doesn’t make full use of real screen estate. It’s more on the developers than the hardware itself.

I think Android just need to do something about scaling. I think it was back in Android KitKat, app scaling was much better in terms of providing a bit more optimisations for large sized devices including tablets. Lolipop and later haven't had a good optimisations for larger displays. I hope having thr Fold with help Android be better for larger displays.

My first try with a fold was a little let down. My fold 4 didn't feel like a phone when closed. If the Pixel fold corrected that problem I'll be back on the foldable phone wagon.
