Well done Mr. Gore, I had never heard the true identity of Mystery Babylon after spending 20 years in the Dispensation theology camps. They always pushed the identity off on the Roman Church. It wasn't until I came out of her so to speak that I was able to on my own Identify Mystery Babylon as Jerusalem and I was shocked. When I saw you had this up I had to listen to it to see where you were on this. I was quite blessed to here this and I'm thankful for the old Orthodox understanding you bring. Your classes on the history of the church and a study of what’s going on in the world during biblical times are my favorites so far. I just finished the class on the life of David which really brought to life the words of the Bible for me. You have a gift for telling a story such that I can understand the Bible so much better. I am really enjoying learning from you. I am very interested in learning more about the life of Moses and also, the women of the Bible and their part in Gods plan. Might you be interested in doing a class on these subjects? Thankyou for the hard work you put into these classes.

Aleister Crowley, the occultist, loved this part of revelation. He saw himself as the Beast that Babylon was riding on and Babylon was what ever woman he was with at the time (he had many). - I am glad I saw this video of the always great teacher Bruce Gore. I was surprised to find that Post Mil Greg Bahnsen drew a line between Rev. 4-12 and Rev. 13-19. He believed the first half prophesied the judgement of Old Jerusalem, and the second half the judgement of Rome. Do you know if he ever changed his view? Is there still a divide in the Post Mil camp where some see the Harlot as Jerusalem and some see the Harlot as Rome?
@GoreBruce3 ай бұрын
The second half of Revelation does include language pointing to a judgment of Rome (e.g., poured out his vial on the throne of the beast, ch. 16), but there is no warrant in my opinion for viewing the harlot city as any other than Jerusalem. I believe that is the view of the bulk of partial preterist interpreters of Revelation.

Great teacher! The Mystery Babylon is related to the Babylonian captivity where the Jewish priestly class intermarried with the Babylonians as well as studied the mysteries of the Babylonian religion. The writings of Moses were reinterpreted in Babylon to reflect the eastern form of religion that Talmudism became and is today. These were the wise that were rebuffed by Jesus. These were the builders who rejected the corner stone. These were of the synagogue of Satan who were of Idumaen descent and not children of the promise but were Edomites. They confessed to never being in bondage to any man and yet sons of Abraham. Only Edomites fit that bill. The Herods had filled the priesthood with these same people. Herod was of the same bloodline. This cannot be minimized as was done here by the good teacher.

Your comment itself should explain to you why christianity and it's innumerable divided denominations and sects represent Babylon. The very word Babylon in the scriptures represents confusion or to be confounded. All of Christianity is Babylon as the people are heaping teachers on themselves according to their lust for the doctrines of MEN. When we truly receive Christ IN us, the anointed one, we come out from among them and are separate. This happens at the time appointed by the Father as He receives us and is a Father to us and we become His sons and daughters. This new covenant is without a physical temple or a man as a mediator between God and His elect. The only mediator is the man Christ Jesus and that man is WITHIN us. We are espoused to one husband, Christ. Once we hear the voice of the Son of God and are raised from the dead, we no longer trust in a man to teach us and only rely on the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Christ to teach us and open our minds to understand the scriptures. When we were under the curse and trusting in man, we were alienated from the life of God. All of Christianity is still under the curse, placing their trust in theologians and the wisdom of men. As it is written, cursed be the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm and whose heart is departed from the Lord. Once we hear His voice we come out of every denomination and sect of christianity and we only trust the voice of the Good Shepherd. His sheep hear His voice and a stranger they will flee from. All who are in the harlot houses of Babylon are laboring in a house of a stranger. That is all vanity.

He explains it. The Roman kings/ Caesars ("We have no king but Caesar")- five have fallen, one is. Julius, Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, and Claudius are the five who have passed. The sixth, then, is Nero. It's very straightforward unless you overthink it.

I’m 100% in agreement with what you said around the 30:00 mark about the church just “trying to get along” and going with the flow of culture rather than standing for the word of God. But I just have to ask for some clarification…I notice you are in the PCUSA which ordains women pastors and approves of same-sex marriage…would you consider this an example of the church just going with the flow of culture? Or do you see nothing wrong with that?

Thanks for sharing this, I just finished listening to it. So would this be the same argument you use to support same-sex marriage? That it was something that was forbidden at that time, but it is now acceptable? Or is this an area where you disagree with the PCUSA?
@GoreBruce2 жыл бұрын
@@joshnelson3344 I do not support 'same sex' marriage, nor does the PCUSA church I attend. The General Assembly of the PCUSA speaks only for itself, not for the individual churches, and the churches are free to reject standards they view as contrary to scripture, which is certainly the case with respect to same-sex marriage, or homosexual behavior in general.

Bruce Gore obviously takes the Preterist view on Revelation using the events of 70 AD as fulfilment. I believe there is truth in that belief. However, it does not go far enough because the enemies of God, Christ and believers have not yet been completely put down (reference psa 110:1, Mat 22:44, Mk 12:46, Lk 20:33, Acts 2:35, Heb 1:13, Heb 10:13) with the last enemy to be put down, death (1 Cor 15:26). So, to interpret Revelation as strictly past (Preterist) or strictly future (Dispensational) falls short and incomplete. Remember: ALL scripture is given by God and is profitable for ALL believers in ALL times. (2 Tim 3:16)

Since Revelation is written in symbolic language where a beast is not a literal beast, a woman is not a literal woman, a star is not literal star, there is no way a 'city' is a literal city. Neither can it be Rome, as some say, or Jerusalem. It is, however, an entity which claims a relationship with God. Rev 17:18, 'The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.' In what way was Jerusalem ruling over the kings if the earth? And the little horn, the eleventh horn, which came up among the ten horns, displacing three, thereby becoming 'an eigth horn' (the number eight symbolizing resurrection, resurrecting mankind's attempt as at Babel/Babylon). And the king/kingdom 'that once was (at Babel), now is not (at John's time of writing), but would come again' (in the last days). It, Babel, was also the 'beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived' when God went down and dispersed mankind's attempt to unify as one world governing himself in rebellion to God. Imn line with this view, the mystery, Babylon, is Christendom, the false church which usurped the beast's rule, to rule along with the kings of the earth, until she is taken out of the way and the beast takes back its ruling authority, as history of the few hundred years have shown. The true church is the body of Christ, the body of believers.

Just want to point out the mystery babylon is not the old jerusalem, but the new one that is there when the final beast kingdom rises to power together with the 10 kings. The little horn that plucks 3 others in its wake will destroy the harlot with the beast and the false prophet. The final beast and false prophet arises at the same time, and mystery babylon will be there riding the beast at the beginning stages.

I wish I could bookmark your comments to get back to in a few days when I will have finished this series. (Have you watched the whole thing? Or at least the first 20% of the playlist, to understand the presuppositions behind your interpretation and where that school of thought originated?) I think I have an idea where you are coming from and what you might be getting at here, because that's all that I, too, thought Revelation was about. Until I stumbled on a lecture about Dispensationalism in this Channel, then checked out summary about the Millerites & Co. and proceeded to watching "Apocalypse in Space and Time" from cover to cover. It's been worth it, so far. Only 8 more episodes to go. The little horn is part of the series, coming up still, but already available to skip right on. I will proceeded in order, I am pretty confident it will work out just as well as the previous 18 chapters, still curious about the plain and simple HOW, apart from the 19th century conjecture I grew up to take for granted.

You are forgetting one thing and that is satan's little season after the 1000 year reign of Christ. It is during this time that you will see history repeat itself. Jerusalem and the beast working together, but on a truly global scale. Revelation seems to have a duality of meaning. It is predominantly describing the original alliance between the harlot and beast being destroyed in AD70. Jesus made it absolutely clear to his disciples that his return would follow that and his people would be called up to meet him in the air and reign with him for 1000 years. Following this, satan is loosed again and history will repeat itself. This is exactly what has happened. In today's world the beast and harlot have aligned themselves again and created their own "New Jerusalem" and they control the world. It will fall again.

My version of the Apocalypse and the end of God. "God started to lose his agility to move as he have done some thousands of years before. His soles were burning, reason for which He could not wander anymore through the Milky Way, He could not visit the Venusian of the Venus planet or inspect Mars. He ordered different kinds of footwear from the most prominent designers; He tried sandals, boots, moccasins, sabots, loafers, oxfords, espadrilles, monk shoes. None of these pairs would provide a minimum of comfort to His legs. His soles were burning so He could no more roam freely through the Cosmos. He ask a cosmetologist to scrape the excess of skin from His soles, He ask a dermatologist to prescribe an ointment based on the complex vitamin B, but with no results. An old man, a cane in his hand, approached Him, I think he was the great- great-great ... son of Moises, and told Him : “I think your soles are burning from the green house effect that your creatures, the heirs of Adam, are producing and which will destroy the planet and themselves.”' God looked at him in despise, mainly because he shepherded a flock of some sheep and not of goats, and snatching the cane from his hand, God hit the boy's head which became a bush in flame and split the atom. As a consequence of this act the boy thought he himself was God. This was the precise moment when the demiurge realized He had mistaken one more time. He had to do something to remedy the human race and save the planet. The idea on which He based his new strategy was to bring back all this humanity to Eden, to the Paradise Gardens. The problem was the space was not sufficient. Not all of them could fit into Paradise. Some time ago He heard about a named Einstein, that could solve the problem, and which brains were kept into a boll in His cave, among jars of pickles. But, he found nothing there. He went to the Library of the Academic establishment and asked for books in order to study Himself the theory of the expansion, that God confused with the theory of the dilatation. Unfortunately the theory dealt with the expansion of time and not of space. He decided that He will research the phenomenon of dilatation using as parameters the abdomen of human kind. The truth is, that by resolving this problem, He would find a solution to other difficulties such as : gaining space for those dwelling in the Gardens of Eden, so their abdomens will not rub one against the other anymore ; gaining space by reducing the land assigned to the culture of cereals, fruit, vegetables and animal nutrients supposed to nourish Pantagruelique abdomens ; and last but not least, the quantity of gas produced by these abdomens would diminish, which implicitly would reduce the green house effect. I wonder about the smell of such a house? Fetid! In the advancement of the project, the first steps were fatal. Among the human kind there was a layer of individuals which did nor want to abandon the abdomen. Some said they needed the abdomen to open the way for them, some others said they use it as desk, others argued that the abdomen was a barrier in seeing they own private parts of their bodies, and other said that their abdomen spear them the money needed to buy a percussion instrument. There were also those that claimed that they will not renounce to their abdomens because waking up facing the pillow they could roll on their bellies to get out of bed. God felt outraged in his authority of “I am what I am” and pointed to the sol, not the note in the musical game but to the earth, and ordered the team of cosmeticians to start an epidemic fight and get rid of the abdomen people. I do not know if you are familiar with the etymology of the word cosmetics. I believe it come from Cosmos and means to clean the galaxies. What else could it be? Although a third of the planet population disappeared in the epidemics, an important percentage of people was left. They were the mediocre onece, those that did not add anything to progress, that did not invent something, did not create something, in a word, they eat without increasing the human intelligence. Those were the most difficult to be introduced into the Eden because they were calculated, stupid, confused, disoriented, greedy, hypocrites, layers, snobs, authoritarians, perverts and convinced they could lead the world. Their abdomens did not swelled because they went regularly to the gym yet they could not pass through the eye of the needle. They were on the point to escape the vigilance of God's eye, hiring the slender and thin, the most hungry and most thirsty camel which was supposed to help them enter the Garden of Paradise. Some camels refused this task, others no, and the later were rewarded with many bottles of spring water. God decided to use a trick on them and projected them on Mars, planet that He just inspected and had all the conditions, natural, industrial, social, for a nuclear war. The human kind found out about this conflagration when parts of human bodies, heads, hands, legs and buttocks started to fall on Earth that smelled as spring in the month of Mars. With the remaining population, meaning the chosen ones, God decided to revitalized the agriculture . He invited all into the Garden and after they had been dressed in some leafs, had some apples for food and were showed the premises, they were gathered for a brainstorming conference. The faith of God dictated that He did not have any clue about the new technologies in the domain of artificial intelligence, of the fact that semi-demiurge were able, helping themselves by some arrows, to implant into His head some Nano-chips used to anticipate thoughts, thoughts that were displayed on a screen and later read by the chosen inhabitants of the Paradise. Epilogue : God was put into a nursing home, where He was fed every day with a spoon of tea of ember coming from the inflamed bush, in the hope He will get better. But His voice trembled , His legs collapsed, His soles, once resistant to radiations, were burning, and His hand, His elegant hand pointing to Adam, became stumpy, His nails hardened and full of streaks, soiled by dust and mud as the hands of any peasant. The craft of cosmetology disappeared by lack of clientele. It is true many of the cosmetologists were killed on Mars during the brotherhood war and their utensils, the scissors, the file and the tweezers were lost. So nobody was left to take care of Cosmos and so of God. Recently, I heard news about a youngster who entered God's cave and stole Einstein's brain. He plans to implant it into his head. Hopefully we'll have a theory about the expansion of space which will generate the necessity of abdominal abdomens race that will populte the Garden."
