Now I see the connection between Rev 18:21 about being thrown into the sea with the verse in Matthew 21:21: And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. Jesus in Matthew was talking about Jerusalem, the cursed unfruitfull fig tree, being thrown into the sea. And this occurred in 70 AD.

You might even say that it is faith in Christ that throws the law into the sea so that it no longer has power over us.

Jerusalem is not Babylon. The description does not fit. Mystery Babylon I more likely to be USA. Jerusalem is not on many seas, and does not trade as described. The Statue of liberty is of the goddess libertos also known as the sex goddess.

this is incorrect seeing that Christ prophesied and revealed Babylon to be a city that was present in the first century nor in the 21 century. The great city, sodom and Egypt where the Lord was crucified refers to Jerusalem. Also, USA is not a city but a country.

Hallelujah. Thanks Bruce, this teaching was so encouraging. I was thinking of Babylon of the present and the demand for compliance that it seeks to exert on the people of God. Not quite sure where the centre of its power is, but the principality is certainly united internationally in its diabolical effort to entrench perversity as an accomplishment of human liberty. It's zeal to bring humans into subjection to its ideological slavery is truly astoundinding and its adherents quite psychotic in using every devious method and force into accomplishing the task. But it's going to be very interesting to see how it's destroyed and how the wicked are going to fall into their own traps. The people of God are praying. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

The church historian Eusebius, writing in the early 4th century, specifically describes this exodus from Jerusalem by Christians in obedience to Jesus' warning.

The Danish church "Folkekirken" (The Evangelical-Lutheran church of the People) is all-dominating in Denmark. Something like 75 - 80 % of the people are members of it. It is tied to the state in different ways, for instance a small part of the taxes go to the church, for it's up-keep and salary for the priests and so on. It is a state-church. The state because of this off course also has some influence on the church and puts pressure on it to comply, not openly but - you know - you better listen to the one who feeds you. According to what Bruce Gore says here that is bad. State and church should be kept separated. I agree. I can though see some advantages in having one dominating semi- state controlled church. It prevents the growth of so many heretic churches that we see in the USA. One man or one group starts a new church and they are not learned in theology or ancient Hebrew or Greek and they misinterpret the bible and end up with forming heretical churches like The Jehovahs Witnesses, The Mormons and the prosperity churches.

What do you do with verses like Col 1:6, 23 and Roman's statement that "yes, the gospel has gone into the entire world." Also, the book of Acts seems to follow the pattern of Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and then to Rome, but Paul finishes the mission by making it all the way to Rome. Anyway, that would make me think that the "spreading" of Christianity was completed in the biblical author's minds. I would like to believe this presentation (and maybe I have to wait for the next couple weeks), but I can't get past the idea that the great commission was completed, and thus full preterism and a spiritual kingdom with a ever-continuing physical world, or even an unrelavent Bible, is true. Any advice?
