Just wanted to mention that torching the resin for a short period of time will not affect the resin. Bursts of less then 5 seconds is perfectly fine, only real one you have to worry about is when you are using white in your resin because over exposure to a flame will yellow your white but anything up to 3 seconds of flame will not harm the white resin Resin heats up when it is curing so in reality your just helping the curing process.

Hi again. Sorry but I forgot to ask. Can you "please" make a coaster with a Sand Dollar in it? They are one of my very favorite (along with star fish) and I've got a poem about Sand Dollars and the 5 little doves (well they look like doves to me and others) that are in them and what they are suppose to symbolize. hey samantha, sorry for keep on bothering you, :) i just love all your tutorials, ,i learn so much from you, another question, after a couple of hours my seashells start to come to the top again, what do you think i am doing wrong, i have the KS resin the sand etc, everthing works fine up until curing time, what do you think

fill the holes with resin or glue to prevent air and floating .. you can also do it in layers

How does the KS Resin hold up to a warm/hot coffee mug?

I’m assuming you mean the outside of the mug.. I’ve spun plenty of mugs they hold up fine , I actually have a wood grain wave mug tutorial here on my channel 😁 KSRESIN has a heat resistance of 475°

Dumb idea why not paint the back with a bit of blue resin to darken them but they look great.

It’s not a dumb idea, it just depends on the look you’re going for. In fact you could put a really thin layer of darker resin and let cure before adding the rest. That’s what art is all about, letting your creativity flow!!

yes since its ocean it wouldn't be too bad but if they float too much they get stuck at the top and you can feel them

I love to do the ocean coasters more than any other kind. They are my favorites. These turned out really nice and the blue was just fine. I have some tiny hand held torches. I think you can buy them at Walgreens or even Circle K. I put it on low and they’re really perfect for these coaster molds. It has just a small little flair. TFS 😍

These are cool!! Just as an FYI, a heat gun would work to get rid of the bubbles, because there is no flame it shouldn’t burn or wreak the silicone molds👍🏻😊!!

Does the sand leave a rough texture on the side? So excited. I just used your link to order the mold and resin. I am going to be using sand and shells that I have collected from my favorite beach. These will be Christmas gifts! Thank you for the inspiration. I will be watching many more. Lol

Very pretty, Samantha! I've seen the ocean in Cancun and Carmel where the water is so clear (and a very light aqua) that you could see straight through to the bottom. The deeper the water got the bluer it got, but I've never seen such beautiful ocean water in my life. Since I'm older now and can't scuba I wish I would have at least gone snorkeling. My daughter went 2 yrs ago and said the water is still clear and you can see all the ocean fish and coral, etc (no sharks , like my friend saw when he went down in Key West, scared the begeezuz out of him, lol! I shouldn't laugh because I would have died right there) I think these are beautiful. I've heard and I know it's true, but I don't know where in the world it is, that has pink sand on the beaches. I'd love to see that too. Oh well...I love my mtns and your resin coasters of the beach with sea shells and sand. THANK YOU Samantha. Thumbs up!

Not sure about anywhere else, but we have several pink sand ‘lakes’ here in Australia, one of which borders the Indian Ocean. They are not beaches but are still strikingly beautiful… most are located in Western Australia and South Australia. ♥️♥️🇦🇺
