The snow is piling up fast, making it harder to work. At the same time the vistas become increasingly beautiful. I'm making progress with the gutters and I'm solving little problems on the property.

There is an American product, available through Amazon, called “rain-x” that is you apply it to the surface of your solar panels and your vehicle windows. It substantially reduces the ability of water to stick to your windshield or any glass surface. It’s too late given your weather but do that next fall and it will reduce snow sticking to glass surfaces.

I feel like part of the reason Martijn's videos interest me and I watch each one is that its so different from my typical lifestyle. I'm a very efficiency oriented, get-things-done-quick type person. You really think wooden gutters will last long? I think they'll be gone pretty soon since it goes quite hot in summer the wood will just split. With the continuesly change in dampness they will just rot pretty quickly is what i think. It is really quite tough for this guy to work in winter overthere, respect to that. I would have preferred a southern orientation instead, so you can watch the snow without experiencing so many of the troubles that come with it, and have more charge on the batteries.

Martijn, I am in awe over how you continue working through rain or snow and with limited daylight. It is admirable and encouraging. I am lost in the scenery and solace and now the painting! I am anxiously awaiting the spring and winter has just begun! Watch out for the wolves, it worries me. Thank you for another great episode.

Martijn, you are truly amazing! No task is too trivial, too difficult, too perplexing nor too aggravating! You just get on with it! Fabulous! The view where you live is just so spectacular! I, and thousands of your viewers would adore to be there with you, though I doubt one percent would have the stamina that you have! Your painting looks wonderful ! Have you ever thought of doing the four seasons scenes from the same spot? They would look perfect on a wall in a diamond shape to show the cycle of life; no beginning and no end, just round and round! I have a bad back at present and watching you do all this heavy lifting, bobbing up and down, even just walking up the hill, I pray you never hurt yourself! To have all that construction work to do and not be able to do it would be so frustrating (just how I feel right now)! In that vein I say, PLEASE LOOK AFTER YOURSELF and keep well and fit for your humongous project! Keep safe. Thank you for your fabulous blog! ❤️🦘🇦🇺

They say one must not envy but when I see those gutters which are unique, they created by your hands, made to work, I am envious of your multiple skills. You surely we're in front of the que when gifts of talents were handed out. 🗣 Impressive seeing you working no matter the weather the jobs must get done. You obviously well organised for all your wants and needs to get the which works well for you. The greatest MAGIC is seeing the fairy tale show covered lands, mountains and trees, it's so clean you got to be in awe. It's MAGICAL 💗🇬🇧💗

Martijn, I was fearful of the wolves near you at first also, but the wolf-song is enchanting and somehow reassuring now.. Your painting efforts are very encouraging and not surprising as you hav demonstrated your "artist's eye" so many times in all you do. As you batten down the hatches for winter, enjoy your time sway, we will eagerly await your return after the holidays.

Almost everyone could live there for a couple of days in the summer, just a few ones can live and work there under these circumstances through the winter. And even then you have really set your mind to it. Love what you're doing man, respect!

My parents emigrated from Italy in the 1950's. Being from the Adriatic coast my mother could count on one hand the number of times she ever saw snow growing up. It is amazing to realize how different this region of Italy is from that of my family. It's really quite a small country but has vastly different climatic regions. It truly is a pleasure to watch you create your space.

@@beaconeersofthesevenmaps3467 haha, that would mean that countries like spain would also have such a kitchen? Personally i do not think you can compare these countries on a culinary level, but the weather and climate conditions/ differences are very similar

@@roelofvannijen6358 sorry, but you evidently do not know the two Countries: Spain does not have the same geographical/geological variability of (micro)climates and ecosystems that Italy has, nor Spain has the same historical and cultural differences among different regions (guess why we needed to invent the famous Italian gestures?). Moreover, Italy is a natural bridge over the Mediterranean Sea, which favoured the intercultural exchanges that, over the millennia, enriched our cuture and cuisine.

@@beaconeersofthesevenmaps3467 i've been in spain for 20 years so i guess i know more about the spanish microclimates and ecosystem than you think. The highest pyrenees are located in spain, the picos de europa also got a big influence. I am in the puertos de tortosa beceite, just a tiny mountain compared to them mountains. I am 50 k from the mediterranian sea and we get 70 cm of snow easily. I can tell you that spanish microclimates are probably quite a bit more extreme. But if you look at it from a culinary point of view, the food in spain doesn't come nowhere near the italian food. So that is not because of climate as you suggested in your first comment. But i am not here to argue, the comment just made me smile, nothing wrong with that.

I am impressed with your resolve to continue work into winter. The cold can chill the bones in that area. Martijn, as usual your dedication to your work and project amazes me. Most people (including myself) would simply quit until spring. You are a man of great inner strength, which became very apparent as I watched your documentary on Two Years On A Bike. A fantastic documentary, which includes some of the most beautiful scenery that if it were not for your documentary, I'd never have the ability to see. Again, I watch in awe how dedicated you are to this project. Here I sit whining because I have to go out and just work outside in the cold weather. Your just amazing...and a special human being. Thank you for taking us all along on your journey.
