Ya know, when other KZbin truckers post a 13 minute video, I feel like I'd seen a 13 minute video. When you post one, I feel like it had only been 4 minutes, because you're style is so natural, and I can relate to what you say. I think we should all ask that you start doing 30 minute videos, Dan. You're my favorite KZbinr. I hope you get back on the road soon.

I feel for ya Dan....it's not easy sitting around while your baby is having surgery lol. Martin Cat in Topeka used to be 24/7 years ago, and they had me out in record time on 1 of my trucks. They did 2 of the 3 I had overhauled. With their chassis dyno & the ability to break it in before it ever left...I thought it was a 1st class shop and very conscientious mechanics. You've been able to get about twice the miles out of your truck that I did....you're obviously doing things right! Enjoy the motels amenities and your mini ''vacation'' ....take in the sights....things will be fine.

Yep, I've been there with a 2007 387 Pete w/C15 Cat. Did the same thing with a Platnium rebuild here in WI. It was expensive but well worth it. I added a new radiator, starter, air compressor and altenator. Cat warranty covers all those extra things I added. Truck was stronger then ever after I "bit" the bullet. Good Luck Dan.

I have a Acert C-15 and I kept my HP at factory Specs. 435 hp is my factory Specs. I'm not into fast driving and I also don't care about high Torque. I get better than average Fuel mileage than most C15 cats. I've had my C15 for 8 long yrs and it has served me very, very well.

You are doing the right thing replacing everything you are replacing. I worked for a Peterbilt dealer before I became a truck driver. We did several in-frames while I was there. Your truck will be good for a lot of miles now.

Dan, I must say. It's a real bummer to have an occurance like this. And it's also very informative on your part. Thank You. I'm retired now, but watching your videos has made me want to come out of retirement and chase you around the country. My plan was to buy me a pre emissions Pete, and a Dorsey trailer. When I started checking into the business, Mercer said I was too old. So I might go independent LLC. Until I do something just know I've been there done that. But my troubles were with my Hotshot truck in the 1970's. Like your show! Hang Tough!

Bummer......My CAT C-15 breakage was a broken crankshaft. Threw oil all over everything out of the front seal. I loosened the alternator belt and the balancer fell forward. That's never good. As luck would have it, the break was jagged enough that the main cap kept the two halves together enough to keep it in time. There was a surprisingly small amount of damage. Good Luck, Dan. We are pullin for ya. It will get better.
