SOME EASY WAYS TO KEEP VIDEOS COMING (and/or say “thank you” 😊💕)
🔹 Sponsor this channel with a contribution: www.PayPal.me/...
🔶 Or become a monthly patron and earn EXCLUSIVE rewards (like free digital art downloads, access to extra videos made ONLY for patrons, behind the scenes looks and more!) 😄🎉:
Patreon.com/MyriamsNature
I thank you in advance for being a part of the team.
🔹 If you prefer tangibles, this is my Amazon wishlist (some things are realistic, some are a dream 😄): www.amazon.com/...
____________________________________
= For this piece I used the following ALCOHOL INKS:
Piñata from Jacquard:
Señorita Magenta and Baja Blue
🔹 I really recommend this “Exciter Pack” (so appropriately named 😊) of nine gorgeous, rich Piñata inks ... including the colors I used : amzn.to/2G2tkAB
🔺For Canadians: amzn.to/2HzXn3c
** [Please note, this is my personal, unbiased opinion ... I will always only share things I love using and fully believe will make your heart sing too. ] **
Copic Sketch Markers : Pale Sepia (YR24)
Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker CT1
91% Isopropyl Alcohol
= 🔹This was done on DURA-LAR by Grafix : amzn.to/2HbLYVZ
🔺For Canadians: amzn.to/2qw88eN
= STYLUSES come in many styles (from inexpensive wooden ones to slightly pricier ones with pretty handles). Most of the time sets under $5 - $10 will come directly from China and will take a couple weeks to arrive. You can pay 2 to 3 times more from vendors in the States ( they got theirs from China too) ... you’ll just get them much faster.
I have 3 possible sets of styluses listed in amazon.com/shop/MyriamsNature ... you may find a set you prefer from the related items area of one of these listings. In the end, they all work the same ... just pick the price, look, and quantity you prefer. 😊
= SEALING / VARNISHING =
To seal an alcohol ink piece I use a museum quality spray by Krylon: Kamar Varnish. Unlike most spray varnishes and acrylic sprays, it will not react with the alcohol inks. 🔹Here is a link: amzn.to/2jGh3KO
If done on something paper thin like Duralar, the piece can be framed under glass or acrylic without being sprayed. Avoid placing your alcohol ink work where it will be exposed to direct sunlight however. Some inks can fade quite a bit in the sun.
A UV Protecting spray can help minimize fading.
To see more products I use, love and recommend for fluid painting (and to possibly discover new products 😊) :
www.amazon.com... (Please note that vendors may change their prices without notice. Whenever possible I chose the vendors with the best prices but sometimes a price increases, so, if a price seems "wrong", please choose a vendor with a price your prefer.)
Thank you in advance for watching the videos, sharing them, commenting and leaving a thumbs up. Your kindness helps my channel continue and it is all greatly appreciated! May the alcohol inks, resin, and paints be kind, and may the pours be with you. 😊💕

you are the most tolerable teacher! everything about your presentation is so spot on and you don't blather on with life stories or preamble of what you are "about to do". Oh, and as an added bonus, you have incredibly useful information. thanks for taking the time to put this together. i wish your channel all the best!

They’re both beautiful in their own way. I loved this video, you taught me so many techniques and tricks, like freezer paper. I also love how you’re NOT using a compressor like many of the others. I’m thinking most of us don’t have one, so it’s nice to see projects we can try too. Thank you 😊

I'm a stamper - this needs a mermaid! Love it. Really like both of them - for framing, I'd go with the bubbles. I would use the more simple one for the background on a card.

You are an excellent teacher, and I so appreciate how prepared you are. Nothing is so hard to watch is someone figuring out what to do on a long video. I especially appreciate how you explain every detail and how to repair your mistakes. I am so excited to try this new technique with my alcohol ink. Your voice is so soft and relaxing... in a good way... that I almost want to fall asleep.... I wish I had your calm nature. Thank you for sharing your gift! Miriam!!! Your 'With' art paper is absolutely gorgeous!! And, I think the bubbles add so much more dimension to it than the first paper, 'Without'! However, I do love the colors, and I could visualize that 'feel of fabric' you mentioned, along with the 'windswept moves' (which sounds much more magical than 'ink blown around with a hair blower) of some colors over others that do their part to highlight that 'wispy-look' that you first wanted to show us in this part of your tutorial!! I was so intrigued with your use of 'embellishments' when showing us how to make the 'bubbles', and I wonder if there are other 'embellishments' you might show us in future tutorials that we can learn about and also try? Are these embellishments (your 'bubbles') your own design? Or, is there a special site or store where we can go to find more embellishments like the 'bubbles'?! I have been trying to watch and learn more about Alcohol Inks by enjoying several of your tutorials on You-Tube, where I have also enjoyed your wonderful sense of humor, as well!! (A few of my art-loving friends had suggested I watch 'Myriam's Nature' tutorials here if I was ready to try out Alcohol Inks, because they already know how much I love designing and creating jewelry, and how much I wanted to incorporate the Alcohol Inks into my jewelry designs!! I must admit that I do love the sound of your voice, as I find it quite soothing, along with your relaxed, friendly, and talented style of teaching!! With the exception of needing to purchase more of the Yupo paper, I have collected many more inks and other necessary supplies where I feel more confident now after watching your tutorials where I would love to try some of your tricks and tips when making my own designs with Alcohol Inks! (Currently, with the month of March only a few days away from ending, and April, 2020 starting soon, because of the COVID-19, the 90% Alcohol is extremely hard to find, and I think they are saving it just for hospitals! So I will have to wait to purchase that very important supply to play with my Alcohol Inks!!) Thank you so very much for giving so generously of your time, your wonderful Tips and Tricks, and letting us see your talent as you develop your art right before our eyes!!! Thank you again!! And Bless you, Myriam for sharing your exciting designs with all of us!!

Both are absolutely gorgeous! I like the “jewel” effect one because it’s different. You are extremely talented and your tutorial was excellent. I’m new to alcohol inks and this helps me out tremendously! I want my backgrounds to be wispy like yours so it doesn’t fight what I might add to the card. Thank you for sharing your beautiful creations.

Miriam, I just discovered your awesome videos last night and have watched three in a row--absolutely beautiful work and excellent teaching style. I have two questions: On the previous video you showed how to make fractals on a tile with "thinned white paint"--and at some point, I heard you mention Floetrol. Do you use Floetrol to thin regular acrylic ink for that practice? Or do you use water? In THIS video, you showed that the alcohol ink was diluted with alcohol, but is there a certain recipe for doing this? The final question: After you finish a painting, can you affix it to a journal or a wood background? What kind of glue would you use? Thank you so much! You may have already answered all these questions in other videos but I am so excited to get started!

Hi Linda! First off, thank you for watching! 😊💕 I thin acrylic PAINT with Floetrol... to get it to the consistency of warm honey. I do that for acrylic pouring too. For fractals I do it just to the white paint in order to get my base for the fractals. You can use water to thin paint but I’m not a fan of doing it that way because water breaks down the binding ability of paint. For the alcohol thinning question, watch kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYach5mdoMareZI ... I explain it in detail there. You can affix a painting to whatever you like ... the glue will depend on the surface you used for your painting. Yupo, Duralar , photo paper, and the like can be glued down with gel medium or matte medium. If you aren’t a member of my Facebook group, consider joining so that you have a place to ask questions and not wait too long for answers. There are a ton of very experienced artists who happily share their knowledge 😊. I don’t often have time to answer lots of questions more than once ( that way I can get to more people) ... I really wish I did, but sadly the days are too short. 🙁 Here is a link for the group : facebook.com/groups/Myriams.Fluid.Art.Tribe I hope that all helps a bit. 😊💕

I just am starting out and discovered you. (And Subscribed!) Thank you so much for your great tutorials. I have a question - do you need any type of 'finish' over the piece to protect it once you have a design you are happy with and want to hang? Will it remain sticky a bit? Or do you spray it with something to protect it? Sorry for such a basic question, but I am new. I will be watching more. Thank you!

Hi Sheila! Thank you for subscribing and for the kind words 😊💕 . Alcohol inks are best sealed to both protect them and help with maintaining their color long term. Since they are not happy when left exposed to uv light make sure to display them away from direct sunlight. Once fully dry, they shouldn’t be sticky at all. At that time you can seal them with Kamar varnish... this particular spray does not deactivate the inks as any other varnishes do. Once sealed with Kamar, you can then safely add any UV protecting spray you like, or UV protecting resin if you are so inclined. Here is a link for Kamar Varnish: amzn.to/2Evyv9N I hope that helps a bit. 😊💕 (PS Never apologize for asking questions... None of us was born knowing this stuff 😂💕.)

@@MyriamsNature Thank you so much for this. I figured I would ask because alcohol can be tricky with finishes. I am located in Nova Scotia, Canada (a Chicago transplant) and I do believe that I may even have some of the Kamar varnish on the shelf in my stash. I have ordered up some of the Graphix paper and hope to play a little. Your tutorials are really helpful. I appreciate them a great deal. Plus - you seem like you are really having fun with what you are creating. I watched the one with the powdered Jacquard dyes and I laughed along with you when the colors changed. That is what it is all about, isn't it? Enjoying the process. I have some 'Dy-na-Flow' liquid dyes and love them. (As well as the Pinata ink and the Pearl-Ex powders.) I wonder how Dy-Na-Flow would act on that paper? Humm . . . In any case, thank you again. I am sure you will hear from me again.
