I am not even a trucker and I look forward to watching your days. You even explain how and why you tarp your loads. You're fun to watch. Thanks Dan.

+James Claptrap Thank you so much for your nice comment. When I starting making my videos. I wanted to make them so they're interesting for everybody not just truck drivers. Once again thank you for the nice comment.

As a fellow flatbed driver now I enjoyed watching another driver dealing with the same things I have to. Especially loved your comment of that's great 👍 😀. I always say that when I get a load that requires special attention. Great job explaining the belts pulling in opposite directions. You cannot have them all going the same way over the load.

I'm new to Mercer AND Flatbedding. I really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for taking the time to make them. You are helping me get through these first few weeks/months of jitters when it comes to strapping different loads to the trailer. Keep up the good work.

Good day to you Dan. It was very interesting to see what a fire tarp is. In South Africa we don't use it. It tells me that you do it by law in USA.

Sub'd to your channel. I've tried to explain that winch counter torque principal to a couple of drivers I used to work with, and they gave me a thousand yard stare...LOL Thanks for the flatbed lessons. I've done some flatbed work, machine/crane parts that didn't require tarps. Going to a OTR flatbed company soon, and they tarp 90% of their loads. Learning all I can before orientation.

Great video! 👍 I am not a driver, but enjoyed all the explanations of strapping the load. Heck, I enjoy all your videos. Probably because my son was a truck driver until he hung it up and became a driving instructor at a well known tech school in Wisconsin.

2 things No hazards as backing up I didn't hear any noise or clicking, and 2 when the fork lift was loading you ya should have got tarp out and dropped it on the forklift tines, have him lift and drop on top of the load been easy tarpin then :) I'm the guy that started the at steel mills use the cranes to drape a bungie over hook to eyelets in tarp both ends just lift and drape over and drop, super simple tarping:)

You've mentioned the twist in the straps a couple of times. I was headed down I70, in Wentzville MO (near my house) and the flatbed with PVC didn't have any twists. Those straps were buzzing! I rolled down the window and it sounded like a prop plane taking off. Maybe that drive needs to watch your videos. LOL. Keep safe.
@Carolina_Boy_936 жыл бұрын
Tom Klein He Was fine with them like that. Most of us just twist them to stop that buzz sound.

I have done some flatbeding in my 15 year trucking career. I never twisted my starps.I always made surethey were laying flat. I was also told that u could face fines if u came into a scale and they saw twisted starps. Now im sure there is a reason u twisted them and would really want to know why.

+Sir Dirtydog Thanks for watching Try to keep you ideal time to a minimum. I believe that is why I've had good luck with my engine. Also I don't push my truck that hard. I cruise right around 67 mph.

Why is it called a smoke tarp?
@jeffwindsor44877 жыл бұрын
just curious as to why the bundles on the back don't require a smoke tarp?
@SuperTruckerdan7 жыл бұрын
+Jeff Windsor The main reason for the smoke tarp is to keep the soot from the exhaust off the the pipe. If you have an exhaust that is on the ground. You don't need a smoke tarp.

What's the benefit to putting a twist in the strap? I drive a flatbed straight truck and I can't stand twists in my straps, just curious
@SuperTruckerdan7 жыл бұрын
+Jake Fox The twist stops the strap flapping in the wind. Ever drove by a flatbed and his straps are buzzing. Put a twist in the strap and it want buzz
