I'm glad to hear the X15's have been good and has done you well from the financial standpoint. Nothing worse than dealing with a broken truck and not being able take more loads.

i was wandering about the wandering pete. good to hear on the x15 pete. we got a 2020 western star and a wiring harness went bad and it costed me alot of down time because they coudn't find the problem and it took out are AC, It was a bad deal. My driver tied down a generator in the back and put a home AC in truck. It was ridiculous.

Thanks for the video and the update on the X-15.. I have one as well just turned over 365,000 with 7000 engine hours. I do have a APU unit and do not idle unnecessarily. A strong reliable engine so far no issues at all. Have you replace your shocks on your tractor? I have not, trucks been feeling a little squirrelly lately I believe I need new shocks. I am planning on trading mine this month as well matter of fact I am waiting on a phone call from my dealership my truck is supposed to be available in November. Again I enjoyed your video!
@AndrewBrowner2 жыл бұрын
why do yous swap out trucks so frequently.. the money to trade in and buy new must be crippling.. could run that engine for 2million miles im sure in that time you would of went through what 5 trades.. so if youre loosing more than 20% on a trade in which im positive you are then it doesnt make financial sense.. run the trucks until theyre too unreliable to run
@Deleteguest2 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBrowner 2 million miles? This is an EPA engine. These new POS engines can barely hit 750k miles before it puts the owner out of business with downtime and what not. Plus the EGR constantly pumping dirty soot air back into these engines. I've only personally seen one EPA engine in my entire life that made it to 1 million miles. That was from a guy who does 12,000 mile oil changes. Idk what you're talking about, 2 million miles? lol

I wish I could say the same. My company recently let me spec a new Kenworth T800 with a Cummins X15 605/2050 I’ll be picking it up from the dealer for the 3rd time in 18,000 miles and it’s yet to be fixed, it’s driven like absolute garbage since the day I got it and I’ve received little to no support from my local Kenworth dealer and local Cummins dealer, my previous T800 with a deleted ISX 475/1650 would run circles around the 2022 any day of the week

@Adventures of Trucker186 yes has new shocks and seat. Truck is a 94 so it was one of the last non unibilt trucks. A unibilt sleeper setup rides much nicer and has a big hole in the cab. I was planning on cutting hole bigger. But not sure is its work converting it to a true unibilt sleeper. Maybe we will have to see

I would put money on it that my n14 pulls better and gets better fuel mileage than that truck and it’s more reliable! Young guys watch this! If you have common sense you can actually have more freedom and reliability from a 90s model truck and you don’t have to run elog! That’s my opinion and it’s worked for me and for an old truck my 379 and 359 are no slouch when it comes to looks. I don’t know why more people don’t raise hell about the crappy def system all that carbon goes right back into the engine. That is a 6 maybe 7 hundred thousand engine if your lucky!

@wanderingpete31963 жыл бұрын
Been there done that with the old trucks. They’re terrible. It’s not the engines that are bad, it’s the 34 year old wiring, seals, and valves. New trucks are far more efficient and cost effective. I don’t know what all this freedom people with old trucks are always carrying on about. The whole time I was running old ones I was always broke as all get out and having to turn work away because my truck was always down. Then I finally got smart and bought a brand new one, then I found out that freedom was parking it in the yard and completely forgetting about it until I wanted to go again. Freedom was having more money than I’d ever had in my life 3 months after buying that new truck. Freedom is not having to worry about what dingy roadside park your driver is calling from telling you your truck is broke down……again. I even went and bought another old truck a few months back because I absolutely had to have the capacity and it’s been nothing but a money pit and a headache. I can’t wait to get it off my feed bill and actually replace it with something that makes me money. You don’t have reliability from 90s model trucks. I’ve owned several, and every single one was a bottomless bucket to throw money at. PS: I make way more money hauling loads with an elog than I ever did laying under one with a paper log.

@@wanderingpete3196 you must get bad ones I don’t seem to have them problems must new wire harnesses are made in Mexico and are junk. We have a lot of x15 constant check engine lights and emissions sensor lights, dosing problems. I don’t agree with your opinion I hope young people don’t listen to it. If you get an average of 4 dollars a mile one way every mile you won’t be broke.
