Hi! I made another ambient sample pack for the Koala Sampler (regular wav files available too). I made a couple of sequences with the samples and added some delay to the mix. It's very simple but fun to play around with.

easy peasy, just record lots of loops in a special key, for example A minor. These loops are sometimes 4 bars or 64 bars long or whatever you like best. Then record some that may only be 14/16 bars or 6/8ths. This creates a certain randomness. Last but not least, record one or more instrumental oneshots in the key to play them yourself. Load all loops and oneshots into Koala. Done

Thanks for sharing. I have an extra smart phone that I needed to decommission when I switched phone carriers. It would be perfect to convert into a musical instrument. As always, you have an art for bringing out the potential of such tools and making wonderful ambient music with them. I also like that you show what you do so that I can learn. My studio is almost set up, unless the ground loop issue holds me back, it should be done soon. I plan to demo how I make some of the music that I do also.

@@RemixSample I guessed that. Just like I watched the Coda documentary on him, just a matter of days before he left us. He passed on my birthday. I've been feeling such a strong connection to him in this passing (I have had cancer this past year too, currently recovering), and listening to his heartfelt sharing in Coda. Listening to 12, his final album, has been such a pleasure and a surprise too, as I hadn't realised how he had moved into ambience and spaciousness so much. Another inspiration I've drawn from him, is that the album, 12, was created from a music diary he kept during the final 2.5 years of his cancer treatment. I've decided to start a music diary of my own. I always loved the inspiration of Jamuary, but never the pressure to create every day. I'm looking to be more natural, and creative. Some days nothing, some days, three musical notes in my diary, and so on.

@@aquietgarden Sounds like you share a beautiful connection to him and his music. I appreciate you sharing that 🙏 Being able to experience and create music feels like such a blessing. I also prefer to go with the flow and just improvise and play 🎵 I usually goes with what feels right so I had a hard time sticking to a plan or a musical concept for longer periods of time.

@@RemixSample Yes. I'm loving his final album, 12, so much too. The ambience and spaciousness of it. I love that it's based on his musical diary, created during his later cancer treatment years. It helped him through, and became something of such value now. I'm inspired to create a similar type of musical diary. Like a Jamuary that never ends, only you don't have to post every day.
