All of the damage to the broadhead could have happened in the ground, hitting a rock, for example.
@4BOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Maybe so, I’m doubtful though because of the soft sand that is there around the feeder.
@kenamatice2823 жыл бұрын
Very interesting. It would be interesting to see if they hold up to going through bone or are only good if it slips between ribs. Not sure I would want them coming apart on a big mule deer or elk. Maybe hang a section of ribs or shoulder blade in front of your target and shoot a couple through it, go for a what if worst case scenario

I collect arrowheads. That's a copy of a early archaic serrated pine tree. So yeah older style like 10,000 years old. LOL. The Indians would re-sharpen the flint tips and keep using them I also imagine with all those serrations on the edge of the blade you are going to get some nice flesh tearing. Maybe more so than with the traditional broad heads and .80 cents a pop ain't bad. That baby drove deep into the ground after the pass through too. Good, interesting video.
@toddstewart44045 ай бұрын
Depending on the damage, you could gently file an edge and a point back on to the arrow tip.
@oldgrumpyhunter4 жыл бұрын
Could the blade damage have been caused when the arrow drove into the ground?
@4BOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Quite possibly, but I’m doubtful. It’s very soft sand there and since it was underwater, the ground was even softer. Thanks for watching!

Great vid and straight shootin. Congrats. Kill'em all. Cold Steel makes some great stuff. Economical heads for hog work. These broadheads are more than plastic. @@4BOutdoors I not an expert but my guess is she had mastitis. Can be caused by a plugged milk duct or an infected (and often plugged) milk duct. Either way, she is gonna have a fever, not feel good, and show swelling/redness/tenderness of the infected udder/teat. Just a guess on my part and it could easily be an infection from a wound or insect bite on that soft under tissue.

Instead of a broadhead, it looks like a spear head. Tip may have broken in the ground instead of the hog. Barbed heads not legal here in Kentucky. Surprised it flew well with so much width and length. Guessing it would disintegrate on a shoulder bone. Interesting concept.

I tried those and found them to shoot pretty true and straight, they blew through 1/2" plywood easy enough- so I took them deer hunting. That was a mistake. Awesome vid, and great shooting. As for the Cheap Shot heads... They are lethal, but this product is a gimmick and a distraction from quality. They specifically market it as being cheap to win the race to the bottom for gimmick-following customers who don't pay for quality anyway. Will they work? probably. But I think most animals deserve more than a "cheap shot", and these won't go on my arrows. A broadhead is too important to cheap out on.

You are young and supple enough that not stretching before shooting is something you can get away with, but as you age you lose a lot of collagen and injuries will start to become more frequent, I would advise you get used to stretching (gently) now so that when you are older it's something that has become second nature. Wow.... 0.87ea. You stated yourself, a complete pass thru. Sow went 25yds. Hogs shot with mechanical broad heads have ran 60-90yds. Looked like Dbl Lung Blood, nice & pretty & bright. A con or two. Broke off a lil bit of the tip. Blasting thru where ya hit her & exited, a rib likely shaved that edge off. Just tween you and me and that sows first born boar, Id re-use that broadhead on a smaller hog and see how much damage that shot causes both the hog and the broadhead. It just may be you can get 2 shots with minimal damage. Any more 1st shot damage, and I'd toss it. But overall, for less than a G-Dub ea, I think your 1st one is worthy of a 9.0. After all 10 are used, you can get the pertinent cost and a detailed cost analysis. Just one opinion throwed up there. If ya throw it back, just dont hit me plz. 😉 Tks for sharing and heres to your staying SAFE and Healthy. Just think. It wont be long till Spring Long Beard season!
