I modified the back piece of a street hockey goalie mask with the battery pack strap that comes with the tracer tactical head harness. Gives it alittle more rigidity and support. Ran it in a two day night vision course and it didnt fall off even with all the weird positions.

Im sure the OC skullcrusher is well designed but its a semi-rigid system, a big thing we wanted to focus on our product line was packability.

It likely is but its totally possible.

@@coldharboursupply I think a super simple way to do it would just be to cut a hole in the front of a toque (beanie) hat and wear it over the whole thing. It would have the added benefit if you pop your mount off You could just slide the hat to the side so you couldn't see the NVG shroud anymore to be discreet in a hurry.

The runner at 10:20 looked at you like you're some invading alien species lol. Is replacing the counterweight and running a battery pack an option? Maybe run a wire through the hat onto the inside?

Would not be hard, it's all straps, so you could find a way to either run it inside, through the hat, or to make some tethers with bungies. Creativity goes a long way.

I've tried the crye. It can be good with a few mods, but it's a bit outclassed now by more modern designs which have either more padding or more modularity.

4D needs to reconsider their pricing. You have got to be kidding me -- $412 for that? Helmet replacement? Not really, just a cloth cap with pads and straps. A helmet is supposed to offer a higher level of head protection. That one doesn't. My Wendy bump was significantly less than that. A full 'effing helmet. Bought the Tracer Tactical, as it fits the bill for times when you don't want/need/can't do a helmet, without being stupid expensive.
