4g63 balance shaft elimination pt.1

my removal of my front case on my dsm. to install my balance shaft elim kit from ffwdconnection . com and new front case from topline performance. PARTS AVALIABLE AT: FFWDCONNECTION . COM

I have done this to a couple of 4g63Ts and the only thing that a person would have to take it to a machine shop for is to install the blocker bearings that come with the kit. The balance shafts were initially used when this same block was used in rear wheel drive applications to reduce the harmonics in the engine, they are not needed in a front or AWD application.

@canadasarmy i had previously broken it loose with an impact gun and and had it only finger tight. or ya can break er loose with the belt still attached and use a ratchet on the bolt.

Does the timing belt tension cause premature oil pump failure? will this improve 7bolt oiling? (keep more pressure?)

@lawnside82 yes the pan and front case can be removed without taking it outa the car but its not worth the time and effort, its too much of a pain. so do it right or not at all. take it out of the car, and save yourself the time and trouble.

@lengualoco21 ive done this to quiet a few engines now and have had no leaks of any kind or damage. im not sure what a machine shop would do. i mean its pretty straight forward but if your timid at all then yes i would take it to a machine shop.

Dude how in the hell did u get the b-belt sprocket off when the bolt turns with the sprocket!? And how would u get the bolt back on the sprocket at the right torque Cuz when u go down with the bolt it will start to turn!

My case is stuck on it comes loose but feels like the oil pump shaft is stuck or something it only comes out an inch and hits something

i have been lookin all over for a front case video.. thanks!! im trying to see what im in for.. im about to take out a kia optima 2.4 (built almost the same as the 4g63) i have to do the upper and lower oil pan and i figure i would do the front case seal and camshaft seal while im there...i wonder can the front case and upper and lower oil pan be removed without taking out the car?

what exactly do those balance shafts do for your engine? also since you put plugs in there the oil wont even go in those holes where the balance shafts were anymore right?

Hi how are you. I did a balance shaft delete kit on my 4g64 eclipse. But now I'm getting a real low idle when the car warms up and it keeps stalling. Any suggestions thanks.

Not that the 2 are related. but dsm tuners could point ya in the right direction. look at idle adjustment. and the biss screw. and as a general rule of thumb check for any vacuum leaks.

I know this was posted a while ago but, my question is i heard that the proper way to do this, would be to send it to the machine shop, but don't know what exactly they would do to it. Would you know by any chance what the machine shop who actually do. This was said to me by Adam @ MAP

i have done this job on my kia sorento 2009 u eliminate the oil holes using a stick..but iam not sure of the result if any one have do that job please tell me
