Great explanation Morfab! I understood the explanation of the balance shaft on the side of the oil pump. A have a doubt, on the other side (left) I close the holes and take off the balance shaft, the pulley and the belt and put the cover in the place or i mantain the balance shaft, the pulley and belt?
@MorFabIndustries5 жыл бұрын
Remove the pulley, remove the balance shaft, remove rotate and reinstall the two bearings to seal the oil passages, and installt the cover over the hole. The belt also gets removed. The pulley on the crankshaft stays

@sketch10buildz3 жыл бұрын
@@Betooo it depends, if your gonna rev your engine high past like 8k. your gonna want to delete it, it can cause failures. Most people with built engines delete them. but it all depends, some people say it’s better for high rev engines others say get rid of it. But if your balance shaft causes a belt to snap your engines gone.
@Broncin491 Жыл бұрын
So when I do the delete are those shafts still in the motor? Or are they taken out sorry If that sounds like a stupid question, but I don't know much about vehicles. I'm having a oil light flicker on mine at idle right now, changing the sensor and switch in the morning. And my buddy told me about this, hoping I'm not loosing pressure from the balance shaft bearing being worn down. So if I don't this to my car it would bypass all of that?

Hello from New Zealand, great job with the explanation! Could you explain crankwalk, and are evo5 engines prone to crankwalk?
@jedpratte5 жыл бұрын
Any motor can "crankwalk". Just means the motor has exsessive crank endplay. There is many ideas out there as to why some motor are more prone then others to it.
@blaqjac215 жыл бұрын
older generation evo motors had a poor split thrust washer design .. all newer ones have a single part design now. When you first start an engine there is no to little oil on the washer so it has no to little protection from wear . Add a poorly designed heavy duty clutch and it multiplies the wear effect . you could stop most of that by eliminating the clutch switch aka the need to press the clutch on initial start ups .
@John.strong5 жыл бұрын
If you watch jafromoblie's videos he points out that most of the time the crank walk issuse is there because people leave a bolt out of the bell housing and it puts a lot of stress on the crank I believe this to be true because he has never had a crank walk issuse on his many high hp 4g63

I replaced the strainer gasket. the bubbles are gone and the pressure went up a little bit. but still its super low. with a cold engine it goes up maybe 1/4 the lifters still tick super loud. does the balance shaft removal help here? its a 200.000km engine. good morning greetings and congratulations on your video, very well explained ok, I would like to know the issue of vibrations if they are persistent or are speculations because I see that those 2 axes are really a problem and the other thing is that if there are no problems in leaving the axle placed clear is covering the holes and removing the strap and tensioner and this is in the case of not getting that kit here in venezuela thanks

Eliminated the balance shaft on a 1987 Dodge D50 4x4. 2.6 Mitsubishi about 25 years ago. It worked perfectly. Bought the kit from Moores Engines in Calgary back then for about $35. They said the engine was very well balanced even with out the balance shafts and not to worry. They were right. Was a fun little truck. Bought it used as is because the balance shafts were causing the engine to rattle loudly and the shop she took it to said it needed a new engine.

hi sir ... what is the difference between engine balancing shaft and engine balancing shaft removed? what is the effect on engine when balancing is removed?
@norusskiy76442 жыл бұрын
I be know this is two years old, but just in case anyone has the same question - the balance shaft rotates twice per every cam rotation (so really fast). The only difference that is notable is reliability. I’m sure there’s some performance gain since that’s two less parts rotating, but it’s mainly for high horsepower reliability.
