As a Brit who has used Ryanair a lot of times I will just say this. Europe is only a little bit bigger than the US and I'd say 90% of its customers are vacationers travelling to and around Europe and North Africa. Its a very low cost airline where people just want to get on and get off so their holiday can begin. I've never had a problem with them and their cabin crew are great. I'm typing this before watching the video but I've never had a problem with them

I’ve flown with Ryanair a lot! And in my opinion, they’re worth every euro. People who complain about Ryanair, probably bought the cheapest tickets they could find, but expect the AirFrance La Premiere service. And that’s unrealistic. Ryanair is a budget airline, that brings you from A to B in a decent way. The price/ quality balance is perfectly fine, as you also experienced during this trip. Again a fair and realistic report from you. Thanks, and keep up the good work

Only flown once with Ryanair from Germany to the U.K., cost was around $20 one way with cabin baggage only, it left on time and arrived early so all expectations were easily met, Ryanair’s problem comes from people who travel by air rarely and are used to legacy carriers where everything is perceived to be free but the costs are hidden in higher fares, Ryanair charge for everything, but if you’re willing to forego bells and whistles they can be substantially cheaper than the rest. Plus you’re almost guaranteed to get one of the harshest landings in the world!

I live in Dublin and my favourite thing about Ryanair is that they fly to a lot of smaller regional airports across Europe. Without them it would be necessary to fly to a larger hub and get another internal flight or train to the final destination. I used to fly Ryanair a lot and thankfully I can afford something better now. If you think about the service and value for money there's nothing wrong in the airline, what I dislike the most are the general customers that fly this company, occasional travellers that didn't read the terms of their tickets, the rules about the cabin bags and stuffs like that and create a lot of disruption when boarding. It happened a couple of times that from a flight from Prague a passenger tried to sell me weed, it's not Ryanair fault but this may happen when fares are so low. Moreover, generally working conditions for the crews are not good so I feel like someone else is paying for the money I saved on my tickets.

I'm sure they still want to do transatlantic when possible. Others tried too and got the same issues blocking Ryanair to do it now. The fleets of narrow body planes used by these carriers can reach say New York but with load limitations. Less passengers. That gives a higher cost per seat per mile. A staying one is may be JetBlue flying to London from New York. They do it with less load and seem to be able to sustain the route. But for Ryanair I guess they need a new plane able to reach the other side of the ocean with full load while being able to give the same cost/profit for the European operations.

I fly regularly between Ireland and Spain and use Ryanair. Navigating their website is not that difficult. Given that I am flexible as to when I fly and book priority boarding (which allows a cabin bag and small bag), my return flight is usually less than €100. In 20 plus years using Ryanair I have never had a bad experience with flights operating to schedule virtually all the time.

I haven't flown with Ryanair but I got a lot to say. Espiacialy Rhodes airport gives me some mood that Ryanair owns this airport, cause once I flew to this airport, I couldn't stop watching as Ryanair aircrafts land every second! I was amazed and very happy.

You’ll have to cross it off the list of airlines you haven’t flown yet and also tell Dennis Bunnik! 😂🎉 This was such a great video and I cannot wait to fly this big budget airline someday soon when I visit Europe again! Bare in mind you flew on an old style 737-800. The newer 737s have much slimmer seats which are far more comfortable. Ryanair enabled me to see places in Europe I would have never visited otherwise, since I didn´t have the money or time.

I honestly would say Ryanair isn’t as bad as people say. If you know what your doing it shouldn’t be to bad. I saw something with Frontier how the gate agents scam a lot of there customers into paying $100 for a carry on even if there bag fits into the personal item size. Glad Ryanair doesn’t do that.

I heard you mentioned the hard landing, ryanair typically flies to smaller airports, like stansted, so if they land harder it allows the plane to stop faster. When they fly to bigger airports, their landings are much better.

I'm Irish and pretty much grew up with Ryanair, the no-BS airline. I never add any extras and travel with a small rucksack. You don't need a huge bag if you pack properly. You can get around for $20-50 each way, even on longer flights. The fares in the USA are much higher. God bless Ryanair, it has made air travel so affordable in Europe.

I’ve flown a lot with Ryanair over the years. My first was Stansted to Palermo, Sicily. £9 one way. Bought a Boots meal deal at the airport, costing £3 for a sandwich, crisps and Diet Coke. Plane only half full, so had the whole of the back row of the plane to myself. What a bargain 😊 There were rumours they were thinking of charging for using the toilet, plus they were considering having standing room only for some passengers.

CEO of Ryanair Michael O’Leary stated that passengers would pay for toilets but it never happened. He often comes out with outrageous statements about things Ryanair will do but it’s all for attention and they never intend to actually enforce their statements. He once said Ryanair would have free STANDING spots and passengers would hold onto rails.

It’s fun to see how our previous travel experiences influence what we find exciting in further travel. You guys are so overly excited to catch a Ryanair flight, which for me is basically just like catching a bus at this point. I’m on board on them way more often than I’d like. On the other hand, I’ve flown just a few times in the US and I’ve been overly excited all the time, even traveling on United economy on a mundane Houston-Orlando flight.

All of Ryanair’s fleet (apart from the airbus) are fitted with air stairs. This is not so much for cost but more to save time. A 25 minute turnaround isn’t possible with using air bridges, that’s why you’ll find Ryanair do 35-40 minute turnarounds at the airports they use air bridges but yes of course it saves money too. Ryanair’s home is and always will be Dublin 🇮🇪. Great video though, really great and fair review, fantastic production too!

I don' t think expectations aren't that high at all. But their policy of herding people towards the aircraft in several steps (usually standing), their constant flow of sales pitches during flights and their pioneering of add-on charges (they were amomg the first to charge for check-in luggage, for carry-on luggage, for wishing to sit together) are just annoying. They reduced customer help to an English-only chat function many elderly can't use. Now they're imposing additional ID verification dances on passengers booking via independent portals - even if they can recognize their passengers' e-mail addresses and show those bookings in their own app. If you're not flying with them regularly enough to have a feel for what they're doing, you're well advised to look up what they've been cooking up since your last flight. It's stuff like that which pisses off most passengers - not the lack of red carpet.

I flu Ryanair all the time back and forward to uk to visit family or getting around Europe for holidays. At least one return trip a month, often more and I love them. Cheap as chips if you book early and pack right, never late and their cabin crew are always friendly and polite. They also flu to all the places the legacy carriers won’t go near, which means without Ryanair it’s be much more difficult for me to see my family. Also, the flights are always near capacity, regardless of where and when I’m flying. Love them!

I love Ryanair. Being from England, and since I book way in advance they have allowed me to visit lots of cities that without them I would not have been able to get a direct flight to or even afford on full service airlines across europe. They get you from A to B and personally I have never been delayed by more than an hour, whilst on bigger airlines I have had far worse delays. They do what they promise. Get you from A to B, fairly cheaply, safely and with no frills. They are great for europe where flights are basically all below 4 hours in length.

Pay more attention to details ;) 737 You flew on has 189 seats, not 186 like standard ones. Row 1 has 3 seats. Because of that, rows 1-8 has variable pitch 32-34", then from row 9 there is 30" (beside emergency). Newer planes in fleet have Sky Interior - thinner seats and bigger lockers. Finally - 737 MAX 8 configured with 197 seats - incredibly silent inside (lack of vibrations from engines). In Ryanair, standard rotation time is 25 minutes - that was normal back then, when I handled them. Now passengers are deboarding very slowly - everybody is letting others to go first, while sitting and letting aisle go first is much faster. That is why plane was ready 15 minuter after arrival, not 10 minutes like few years ago. You were very gentle with the backpack in sizer. Usual Ryanair passenger would fit this backacks in small cabin bag sizer :) After that is always a problem to take it out from the sizer, but if it fits it flies :D

In have never flown Ryanair being from South Africa, but I have flown my share of local low-cost airlines and they are "low-cost" as the name suggest. Even here in South Africa a lot of people seem to get confused about this and they seem to expect more bang for their buck. Low-Cost airlines can be a very cheap way of getting from point A to point B, but they can also be very expensive if you start adding all those creature comforts! 😁 As for myself, I travel light with just a carry on and I travel during off peak time as much as possible such as late morning or early afternoon; those times when no one wants to fly! The seats are small with almost no legroom and most of the time it feels like sitting on an ironing board, but it gets you there!

I have been flying Ryanair for the past 10 years and have seen them to change from one of the worst airlines in EU to one of the best in my opinion (considering value for money). Once people get used to what costs what, the app is intuitive to me and am able to book a ticket within about 50 seconds from search, only pay for the services I want, and actually having the option to have hot food on board on an intra-european flight is great and when flying from Western european airports, it is usually a better deal then eating at the airport. And with time, one figures out how the things with onboard luggage, check-in and boarding usually work to make it more pleasant :P

Good video showing Ryanair. I already flew them around +30 times and you have tricks to keep your price lower. Never book the "Bundles", just skip it and afterwards book your bags separate choosing the bag/luggage you only travel with. Also I only travel with my 40L backpack and it always was allowed as "cabin bag" and you always have your "small cabin bag" included if necessary to have a bit more. So the bag policy is not that strict been checked anymore then 10 years ago, if you don't show up to the gate with a 80L backpack or massive checked luggage. Choosing your seat is an option I always skip. Most flights you would take are around 1-3 hours and it doesn't really make sense to pay at amount for short time and like you said exact same seats. The best part is that I do only check-in 24hr before departure online and show up at most airports (depends on the size) around 45-20min before departure time and never ever missed a flight. You also don't have to wait to collect bags. Buying something on board is your own choice but I think it is reasonably priced, just bring your own water bottle and fill it up at the airport and you will survive. Unfortunately the good times flying Ryanair 5 Euro deals are gone but did al lot of trips this way, but just got back from a travel with a 3-leg journey with Ryanair and did spent in total 120 Euro for all the flights with a Cabin bag.

If you can travel out of peak times and are not choosy about where you sit you can get some really good low cost tickets. I paid £17 one way UK to Denmark in March and then £13 Denmark to Belgium. My expectations were met, a seat to my destination, pleasant cabin crew and a safe flight. I just travelled on a 'major' airline to Paris and the service was not any better than Ryanair.
