With more powerful locomotives hauling trains these days, 4 or more locomotives hauling trains is not common anymore. Generally if you see a train with 4 locomotives, it can usually be put down to locomotive failures with rescue locomotives in the new consist, loco re balancing due to operational requirements or trains with older locomotives that have less horse power.

Hello, there is someone in USA called ‘’TRAVELLING TOM’ he comes up with some neat stuff, but I told him about a train programme I copy weekly, here were 6 CP LOCOS in front 2 in MIDDLE then 4 on the rear MOSTLY LOADED and a grade , now CP HAS THE MOST POWEREFUL LOCOS , ‘Tis train was going up into OREGON . IT WAS ALSO HELLISHLY LONG CHEERS FROM NJ USA 🇦🇺🇺🇸

That's the term I've always used even when I was a kid growing up in the 70s and 80s.

A very enjoyable watch. It is amusing to see the empty flat beds, the four locomotives looks like over kill. I assume they have either unloaded or are to load their containers.

The train runs empty from Junee then takes back paper pulp from the Maryvale Paper Mill. It runs every few weeks.

I remember the days of "underkill". A single T class on weeknights on the original Vinelander to Mildura. You could literally walk faster at times going up to Ballarat. Then on weekends when a B class was used, the train usually arrived at Ballarat 30 minutes early. In fact when 2 B class were attached, the Vinelander could almost catch up to the Overland. Seriously, it sometimes had to slow down so the Overland could clear Ballarat. Extra time to buy food at the station I guess.

I'm definately going to move to Melbourne or Sydney but I don't know which one! Melbourne's trams are great but their trains are terrible and Sydney's trains are great but they havn't got a lot of Trams!

No I don't have any of those. Those scenes tend to be more in NSW and the C Class visit to Victoria is hit and miss.
