4K CAB VIEW: Evening Express Train over the Mountain pass

Taking the evening express over the mountain pass from Bergen (Norway). Again we see that the mountain pass is the boarder between two weather systems. It's now August and the light has started to change into a more autumn like brightness because of the cooler temperatures, crisp air and being lower in the sky. My favorite time of the year. Sadly two pigeons did not have the needed velocity to escape the train, and you can see the connection memorial site at Ustaoset right after the tunnel.

The driver's seat on the locomotive you are driving looks lovely and comfortable, and I suspect is adjustable enough to give you as much leg room as you desire... unlike the pox-ridden cramped driver's seats I had to endure on the British Rail class 150 DMUs that eventually caused me to take early retirement after 40 years service.... Retirement is however the best job I've ever had.... Enough about me.... You always make intersting and scenic videos...

My first trip abroad was to Norway, aged 11, after my primary school teacher read us the Scandinavian myths, I nagged my ma and pa, and they gladly relented. We stayed in Voss at that time. I’ve always loved Norway and have been back twice since that early visit as a little boy. On my last visit I saw Kraftwerk play in Bergen and then took the morning train to Oslo to see them play the following evening there. That in itself was such a beautiful train journey. I have been travelling so much all my life, some by Rail particularly in Europe and The US. Now its only a dream to get out doors with all the restrictions due to the pandemic. Its so real from the cab that I feel like I'm back on the road. Super footage and I can even feel the cold in some of the scenes. Well, I've had the headlights on in all videos, but you might have noticed is change in picture quality as well. I have swapped out the GoPro with a camera with a bigger sensor, and interchangeable lenses. That's the difference. So I now have a camera with lowlight capabilites.

What can I say? Another brilliant video. If I may, I'd like to say that seeing the train consist by walking to the locomotive was a brilliant move, and to see inside the cab, more so. To me that makes the video. I have watched many videos filmed in Norway and often wondered how big the train was. To see inside the cab made my day. Hope you can do that more often. I watched the the video going to Bergan first. Everything covered with snow. Then I watched this one. The two vids are worth seeing.

Your videos make me wish I could move to and live in Norway such a stunningly beautiful country. I love the mountains and the beautiful countryside. It would be a magical trip to ride a train such as your through all the tunnels and mountains seeing your gorgeous country. It would never be boring to me to drive that train. You just don't see women engineers on trains here where I live in Central Florida in fact I don't ever recall seeing any period in the US.

They're out there. Just not that many in the US. Last Time I was visiting California I was train watching in the Mount Shasta area known as Cantara Loop. It's known as the tightest curve on the railroad (former Southern Pacific territory, now Union Pacific). It's where the RR must climb up from the floor of a canyon in a horse shoe shaped loop up and out of a box canyon. I was there up on the loop when a UP freight train was coming upgrade from the loop. The train stalled right near me. When I looked up I saw a woman in the engineer's seat. (to my surprise too!)
