Hi! Great video! A couple of questions: Why do you horn sometimes at places that seems like there's nothing going on? Are you alone the whole journey?!
@RailCowGirl3 күн бұрын
Yes, I'm alone on the whole trip. General warning Level crossong (includes pedestrian crossings) Halt (platforms for passenger exchange which is not a station) Trains with a scheduled stop must sound the horn Halt and level crossing at the same place Sounding the horn can be left out between 10pm and 6am

Wow, just wow! I love the contrast of the little bits of natural 'spot colour' against the almost completely B&W background. Great job, RCG!

Do these trains carry sandboxes to aid in wheel traction on the icey rails?
@RailCowGirl5 күн бұрын
Yes, they are activated manually by the operator

All it needs is a speed gauge. that would rock.
@RailCowGirl6 күн бұрын
I won’t show the true speed of the train due to GPS inaccuracy. A former colleague of mine almost lost his job because he/she/they posted a video with a speed gauge, and its inaccuracy showed overspeeding at a certain point. The gps only calculates the time used between two polling points. This can lead to excessive speed if loss of signal occurs.

Doesn't the half the visibility rule apply to whiteouts? Shouldn't you stop when you don't have any visibility?
@RailCowGirl9 күн бұрын
Half vis applies to infrastructure faults, like signal failures etc.

i'm just curious , you see ! at 1:29:10 there's a small line between the main railroad , can some one tell me what it is and what's it used for ? thank you !!!
@RailCowGirl13 күн бұрын
Simply put, these are guard rails to prevent the train from going into the gorgue in case of a derailment. Guard rails are typically placed at places like this and on bridges.

I fully understand the reasons why the Finse tunnel was built, but is the old line still in use in the summer? It was very beautiful to travel on. And as usual, a cool movie that you offer. Well done.
@RailCowGirl15 күн бұрын
No the old line is decommissioned and most of it torn up, which I find sad. It was a truly magnificent part.

October and November when the days are getting colder and daylight shorter. Are the most productive breeding months in Norway; with most births in June and July. It is the same in all Nordic countries.
