As the train slowly pulls into Minobu station , there is a new chain link fence on the left hand side .The fence as it runs comes to a large blackish brown rock the size of a small table directly in the path of the fence. Any North American/European/Western firm would have brought in a backhoe and moved the rock elsewhere. The local people in Minobu however modified the bottom of the fence to go over the rock leaving it in place to enjoy it's eternal peace and harmony. I have never seen this before. Well done Minobu.

I've been to Japan four times and I've still never seen Mt Fuji due to clouds. Not entirely convinced it exists at this stage. 🤣

It doesn't. There is a conspiracy to pretend that it exists in order to attract tourists to Japan. :)

Generally, what are the announcements about? At first, my wife thought it might be a tour, but I told her it looks like a commuter train... but I didn't know for sure... It keeps me company while I work from home alone. Very soothing. I've always loved trains.
@MeatyLegend4 жыл бұрын
generally, they are information about the route. Japanese trains announce where it is bound (kono densha wa, Kofu eki), next stop (tsugiwa), approaching the next stop (mamonaku) and lines you can transfer (norikae)

31:20 that station stop is freaking me out! Look in the rear vision mirror on the platform... the same guy gets off the train 4 times! Yet the film is unbroken and is continuous. WTF...??? 2:23:30 same again... the same people get off the train again and again. Some clever editing going on here! Lovely scenery around Mt.Fuji. Can someone explain what the pentagon shaped 5 x light signal approaching each level crossing is for? Is it a warning light? Regards.

This film educates : Japanese wealthy bourgeois detached houses don’t have gardens, not even Japanese gardens. It informs: us that wealthy suburbs have some tasty plots of plant and machinery in their midst. It entertains: through great production values ie superb framing , good tech , beautiful spring weather and calm ordinariness.

Japan is such an amazing culture. In the U.S. there is ALWAYS garbage and litter on the train tracks. In Japan... zero. Not once scrap of litter to be seen. It's astounding.
If you go to the foreign countries for a rail travel, what country will you choose? - Definitely Japan with JR Pass :) Beginning of this route with Fuji-san is magnificent! I have to remember to ride this train next time I come to Japan!
