I took this train to Matsumoto at the end of October 2020. It was my first time riding a long distance train in Japan, and i love the Azusa E353 ! Such a nice looking train. My dream is to move out of Tokyo soon and live in Nagano, it is so beautiful there with the mountains : )

Hey! I've been wishing to go on a Yamanashi-Nagano route if I could. I've heard that only a rare few of these trains stop at Shimo-Suwa, and this just happened to be one of them. How rare are stops in Shimo-Suwa really? Thanks! Nagano looks beautiful.

i checked Hyperdia and very few Azusa services stop at Shimo-Suwa station. most of them stop at Kami-Suwa station though, it is the next station from Shimo-Suwa and is a 5min ride via a Chuo Main Line local train. Hyperdia is super useful for planning trips. good luck on your journey!!

@@MeatyLegend Oh, thank you! Yeah I've figured, I could've just stopped at Kami-Suwa or even Chino station anyway; since they're very close to some parts of Suwa-Taisha. Thanks once again!

This was an interesting ride. My very first in Japan. Fairly slow a lot of the way. Was this heading South? A lot of oil trains then we saw where they all might be coming from near the end. So many different types of overhead holders. Recognized MAZDA. Have had a couple of those including my very first new car a 1300 in 1973. $AUD2370.00. Thanks a lot, I am subscribed.

This was heading mostly west and a little north on Chuo Line from Tokyo.

At the last station (Matsumoto) why do all the staff bow as the train pulls in?
@MeatyLegend4 жыл бұрын
i think it is custom for the staff at the terminal stations to bow to the trains as they pull in, i believe to thank the passengers. they will be cleaning the train and changing the direction of the seats, as you can see there are already passengers waiting to board.
