@@tz4379 Right. Loads of professional artists use tools or shortcuts to make work easier. Learning how to work smarter, not harder - knowing when you need to put in a lot of time and effort and when you don't - is an indication of professional knowledge and skill. You could say using masking tape less shows she has a good handle on her brush control and technique, which is something a professional should have. But she definitely was one even before this. :)
