Welcome aboard Delta Air Lines flight 845, with non-stop service from Detroit Metro-Wayne International Airport to Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport! Today we will be flying on Delta's flagship Airbus A350-900 aircraft in the Delta One Suite seating configuration.
Unless you are flying long-haul on specific routes, catching a flight on Delta's flagship airplane is not an easy feat. It's even harder, to find an A350-900 with the flagship Delta One Suite seating configuration on short-haul flights as well. Fortunately, Delta occasionally flies the A350 on a few short to medium-haul domestic flights from time to time, mostly to reposition the planes for their long-haul flights. Today's flight was one of those flights, with an A350 being scheduled for a 90-minute Detroit to Atlanta flight.
In my opinion, although the flight was short, the hard product is absolutely one of, if not, the best business class products in the Americas. As of this writing, there is no other American Airline, other than JetBlue's Mint Suites, that offers such an unparalleled, private travel experience.
