One doesn't realize how massive Lake Ponchatrain is until you make an approach over it! One measly causeway to connect north and south! I thought the landing as normal, the runway doesn't seem terribly long so using the entire length was appropriate--wonder if its SOP to leave the flaps half-retracted? Thankfully no 'barking dog' sound as the engines winded down. Interesting how in the distance there is a clear boundary with the built-up section of town and the swampy, marshy area leading into the lake

Yep, Lake Pontchartrain is pretty big. There’s a very famous photo of the 24-mile Causeway bridge taken from one shore to the other that shows the curvature of the earth over it! And while runway 2/20 is only 7,000 feet long, I feel like we could’ve vacated much sooner, but they didn’t seem to brake very hard. And not sure about the flaps as I’ve never seen it happen before. Thanks for watching!

@@kg.aviation I think the flaps left deployed due to hot temperatures. Has something to do with sensors overheating

Damn that was a long landing. I've never seen the reverse thrusters still being used in the touchdown zone on the other side before

Yeah, this landing and inbound taxi were a bit strange on this flight. The landing was fine, but as you noticed we rolled all the out to the last taxiway. We easily could’ve made the other taxiways prior and as you noticed the thrust reversers were deployed the entire time. Then of course the flaps were left down to the gate. Definitely and odd one. Thanks for watching!
