Hello my friends !! I know you have been overseas, so lovely that you are back once again walking through my Oxford :) Thank you for walking along Merton St ( and no stumbles on the cobbles, ha ha ), always good to see my old Alma Mater, Merton College, which has had quite a wonderful exterior clean I believe :) I feel fortunate indeed that other walkers have produced some wonderful atmospheric walks in the early morning, or in a light fog - not suggesting you should do the same I hasten to add - but they all help keep me connected to Oxford - you know why by now I`m sure :) Anyway, thank you ever so much my friends, always appreciated - every time !!!!

We’ll good morning to you Mr T, Yes, we have been in lovely Madeira, and are now happy to stumble those Oxford cobbles for you. Merton college was certainly looking spruce. An early morning walk in Oxford in the light fog sounds just magical. Hard to find a real pea Souper these days in old Blighty but we love the suggestion and the next foggy morning we get in Oxford we’ll be up and ready for it. Stay in touch our good friend and hope to bring you many more meanders.

@@LivingWalks Thank you for always responding Mike and Yvie - so very kind. This video happened to coincide with the arrival of a beautiful book, sent to me by an old Oxford colleague and friend - well actually she is somewhat younger than I, but the book, published by the Bodleian Library is the architectural history of those core buildings of University Oxford - The Bodleian Library, The Radcliff Camera, Church of St Mary the Virgin, The Clarendon Building and so on, absolutely stunning photography, with all the plans and drawings. I thought I knew most of the history already, but even in old age, there is still much to learn - ha :) Thanks, as always, for a lovely walk !!!!!! Take care !

One thing I love about the UK is the wonderful buildings. Most of our historic buildings in Sandpoint have been torn down and replaced with modern structures. Very nice walk. Wish I was there.

hi there HD, yes I guess it’s something we often take for granted, I’ve learned to appreciate them more by travelling more to the ‘new world’ - places such as Singapore where the scale is a little less human in many ways. Always a pleasure to hear from you chum, hope all is well with you?

You can see why Oxford was the setting for His Dark Materials! A sense of grandeur and yet very easy on the eye at the same time
