Hello Mike, and thank you for this unexpected " ride ' around my beloved Oxford. I`m ashamed to admit, that in all of my thirty+ years in Oxford, student to retired Professor, I had never been aboard one of these sightseeing buses, there was never any need, but I can see the attraction for tourists and visitors. With the anticipated reunion of my College Alumni being indefinitely postponed, and the difficulties of long haul flights in this Covid era, my planned next visit to Oxford is pushed ever further backwards :( However, and happily, with such wonderful people as yourself ( there are one or two others ) producing and uploading these splendid video`s, I don`t feel altogether cut off from my Oxford. I appreciate the information you provide in this video, you have done your research ! I also appreciate the wonderful soundtrack you have chosen, reminds me of the great maestro " Segovia " with its precision and clarity. Take care during the current lock-downs the UK is experiencing, but I couldn`t help but notice that The Broad looks as lightly populated as a Sunday afternoon in the 1960`s :)

Nice to hear from you MrTorleon, and I'm glad we could take you back, albeit virtually, to the city that you love. I can see why you're attached to it, we rather fell in love with it too. Although we've been to Oxford before, we were quite surprised at how compact it felt this time around. The sightseeing bus gives a great overall picture of the city, but I like how most venues are within walking distance. We have more videos of Oxford to come: a walk through of the city and a tour of the Ashmolean Museum. So we'll be taking you back there again soon. I'm glad you liked the soundtrack - do visit the musician's home page, there's some lovely piano music there too. Take care of yourself and keep safe!

@@LivingWalks Thank you for your very kind reply, and I look forward, with delighted anticipation to the further walks around my Oxford that you have planned - wonderful news :) As an addition to your tour commentary ( you know me, can`t help myself :) visitors may be interested to know that the change to co-education at Oxford Colleges, and most subjects being taught, is, in the age of Oxford Colleges, something that happened only yesterday ! During my undergrad/post grad years, 1960`s/1970`s these adaptions were often the cause of much heated debate and quite a bit of friction, especially the adaption of co-education, which was resisted, not only by some of the all male Colleges, but a few of the all female Colleges too, with final adaptions well into the 1980`s - made for interesting student years ;) Yes, I know all of this can be Googled these days, but perhaps my memories are being stirred - and I don`t mind at all !!! Thank you so much once again, splendid work.

I can't wait to put this horrible 2020 behind me and hope for a better year! I wish you a relaxing and peaceful weekend. LOVE YOU BOTH! See you on this channel and also on your other wonderful channel, to which I wish you great success! You deserve it all! Much love and a big hug from Milan! Renata

Ah dear Renata, our gracious friend, how nice to feel we can hop on an Oxford bus together and enjoy the view. So pleased to hear you enjoyed the city. It's certainly one of our favorites. We are well and are going through the lockdown ok. As long as we can still get out and walk by the sea, we are happy, and knowing hopefully it's a short one helps too. So hang on in there dear friend, we'll get through it! It's so kind of you to support our other channel, we're so happy too to hear it's of some small help too in these times. Hi there ADM, how nice to hear from you and know you enjoy the films, you're most welcome. We use a gopro and a gimbal which is not too small or hidden. We're always quite surprised that people don't seem to either notice or mind, the most we get is a friendly wave. From this week we'll be using the DJI pocket 2 which is smaller. Thanks for dropping by. Hope you'll enjoy the forthcoming films we'll be adding at least one a week. All the best to you.

I don't know Oxford anything like Cambridge but have visited a handful of times with a friend who lives in Lower Heyford, not so far away. Oxford always feels more separated to me town and gown wise, with a market town with no colleges in sight on one hand and a whole mob of mediaeval colleges separate and apart. I always feel that Oxford's wider streets were made for driving cattle along. Hahahahaha......No doubt this is because I don't know the town well enough. I love the Bate Collection of musical instruments and though overall I prefer the Fitzwilliam to the Ashmoleon (who I think have awful pictures) The Messiah, a Stradivarus violin, is worth visiting the museum If you look at nothing else. I shall now stop typng and go back to enjoying your stirling work.

Well hello there Paul, what a pleasure to find your rather lovely message. We really value such connections so thank you for taking the time. Interesting to hear that Oxford always feels more separated to you with the mediaeval colleges so far apart from the centre, I see what you mean (and I now too have an image Oxford's streets full of cattle). I've never been to the Fitzwilliam, only the Ashmoleon (which we have as a walk here) Thank you for the tip! I hope you'll continue to enjoy the walk and will stay in contact, it'll be a pleasure to keep in touch.
