FYI - a lot of mid to higher-end cases will have that middle 'locating' standoff, I've found. Personally, I believe another part of 'futureproofing' your rig is to spend a little more on a nicer case at the outset... my reasoning being that the PSU and the case are the two biggest PITA components to replace or swap... in my view, it's better to save some aggravation later by spending a little more up front. I know cheap cases are enticing and might make a budget go farther, but they are awful to build in, and even worse to do the reverse... having recently moved my kids' system out of a Bitfenix Prodigy case into a Corsair 4000D Airflow, I spent more time trying to undo all the wiring than I did putting everything into the new case!

Can definitely approve of a good case being futureproofing. While my current one ain't terrible, it was more and the cheaper side and there were definitely moments were i went "FK THIS SHIT!" when i put my current components in there. Especially the CPU power, there was barely any room for my hands to be able to reach the darn thing due to the heatspreaders everywhere in that area.
@wolfwilkopter22312 жыл бұрын
Yeah Cases are one of the components that last half a eternity and can see multiple builds passing by...so putting a little more into it and get some nice case with space and useful stuff and gimmicks, is almost a must, atleast for me. Thats why i run the Coolermaster H500M, its spacious, but no too big, has one of the best Airflows is pretty quiet (most the time until the fans ramp up to shove more air thru to your GPU and CPU that run high loads, i'm using Gigabytes SIV and built in Smart Fan Client for the curves) and has a good load of USB and USB-C connectors etc pp, not to mention the little GPU support thing and all the places to put SSDs into. ;) Also im using a BeQuiet! My point wasn't that 2070 can play every game on the market at max settings at 4k HDR @ 120fps, it was that you can have a solid 4k gaming experience on it which is true so long as you select and tune accordingly. The 3070 is much more capable than a 2070 and I'd argue that you can have a decent 4k gaming experience on it playing virtually any game on the market, you just can't do it at max settings RTX Ultra. I only mentioned SotTR because lots of channels, including this one, still use it to benchmark and 4 years later it still looks better than almost all brand new games. Can I run it at 120? Nope. If memory serves I tuned it to get around 40, which for an esports title isn't enough but for a game like TR, 40 is just fine. I also was able to play Kena at 4k just fine too which is a new title. The games I want to play, play just fine at 4k and I'd rather drop a few FPS than look at pixelated 1440p.

hey can anyone tell me if the ASUS Prime B660-PLUS D4 and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition are compatible with each other and if they are, does the Graphics card do a significant better job at 4k and fps? sorry if it sounds stupid but this is my first time going to build a PC.

Yes they are compatible. But get a 12/13th gen Intel processors. For 4k get a 3070 or above. If you don't care about rtx get a 6700 or above for cheaper than 3070. I've gamed on both and it's kinda playable if you lower some settings.

You won't get great frame rates on a 3070. Even at 1440p

You will.

I have 3070 and 2k monitor. everything runs fine on high-ultra settings and sometimes dlss is needed but always getting around 100 fps on those aaa non competetive games with everything i mentioned. more than enough.
