OK, wow. Never have I seen anything like that. I have seen adults confront the younger ones pushing in when queues have been really busy and slow but that's about it. Do you get lots of empty places on chairlifts during busy periods?

Looks pretty good for me and my current ability. Thou checking Crystal Ski the accommodation for the £2.5k has a lot to be desired as it is mostly self catering, don't know if that is a French thing, but for my week I guess I could manage. Regarding my skiing, the CF main slope apart from a few times when I speeded up now and again it isn't really as intimidating as it was before.

I think this would be really enjoyable for you, easy blues on soft spring snow. This is typical of mid April, sunny days with slow snow and not so busy. I see you are making good progress now that you are comfortable on the main slope. I would say, practice and practice the turns so switching from one side to the other becomes easy. This will help you keep control as you start on more difficult slopes.

@@ChasingSnow Yeah, will try some edging tomorrow. Can do wedge turns - 10 turns to the bottom green flat bit, but still doing a thin snow plough turn when I think I'm doing parallel. Plus the CF rental skis I had last week didn't feel as responsive as the week before, maybe the edges were really blunt. I should improve when I have my own skis, and I get used to them, ready for going away.

Sounds like you are ready for the big resorts but I suppose, in the meantime, all the practice you get is a bonus...

@@ChasingSnow Yeah, 2 hours every week, till I go away, and I just do the main slope now, and am getting used to using the ski edges to turn via adopting early parallel, just have to remember to keep leaning forward and not back seat as I did a few times. The CF snow gets into long ruts via so many seasoned skiers zooming down the slope, so traversing across the slope is like going over ridges, doable when you get used to it. But I'm much more comfortable now then before, be even better when I have my own ski's.

Great, keep it up... we have to get experience skiing under different conditions. Slopes are nicely groomed in the morning but can get really messed up later in the day...

I've noticed that the lift lines are a "free for all", what are the general rules for lift boarding? In the US, cutting line is frowned upon.

Now that's a good question Ellen... from my experience, it really depends. I see different countries tend to have different tolerences. Depends how busy it is and how long the line (queue) is... My general rule is - don't take someone elses place... People in groups like to sit together, so they usually leave gaps. Solo skiers (like me), usually stay to the side and if a group leaves a gap, would jump into that place, which would otherwise have been empty... but this only works under certain circumstances.

Hmm, not sure what's going on there, looks like the instructor is helping the kid somehow. My name is Зоран (in Serbian Cyrillic) or to make things easier, you can just call me Zak...

@@ChasingSnow Zoran (Serbian Cyrillic: Зоран) is a common South Slavic name for boys that means "dawn" or "daybreak". It is the masculine form of the name Zora. The name symbolizes the promise of a new day and can evoke feelings of optimism and fresh beginnings.

I’m planning to go here in late January next year but I’ve heard the snow in Morzine can be a hit or miss?

@@ChasingSnow seems like you been skiing a lot in many places lol. How many days you ski in a season?

I tend to ski for the whole season but only on the nice days, so let's say up to 90 days... and on the not so nice days, I tend to make videos :-)

Snow in Morzine was really poor this year, but it mostly only affected the beginner areas. Take the lift up into Avoriaz and it's fine, and much of the season was good in Les Gets too.
