Those trackers... My mind will never be left unblown by the fact that we can watch a high-rise-sized rocket reach space(very-nearly-ish), deploy its second stage and come back to the surface(also-kinda-ish-in-this-case) again, uninterrupted, and have it be more than just a pixel-sized speck even at its highest point. I will never quite understand people who do not find space flight to be friggin amazeballs.

It was in the intial take off while the plume was still hitting the tower. It was still communicating for a bit after the damage but at some point after boost back communication stopped and is why initially you heard the clear call out and then they changed it to divert. Which to me indicates there may have been a fire and communication worked until the flames melted through some components.

Hm. I normally come to these videos to complain that nobody ever sets up a proper mic so the sound has bad balance, miserable bass, or perhaps even sounds like they stuffed a webcam mic inside a Tupperware container. But the sequence at 0:10 may be the very first time I can say somebody has done this justice. Speaking from experience, I don't think you can get that result without both swapping to prosumer mics (beating every other channel to the punch, I might add) _and_ having a mixer who knows what he's doing.

stop me if you've heard this, but when i was a kid, way back in the 60's, i pulled a plastic spaceman out of a cornflakes box. he was carrying a united nations flag. my first sci-fi was arthur clarke, an excerpt from one of his books that led me to be fascinated by space travel in general. i read 2001: a space odyssey in an afternoon, just before i went to see the film. i thought as i got older, as i grew up, the world would grow up too, and that united nations flag would actually be representative of "nations united", sadly humans are crap and here we are, fifty years on hoping that mars will be better. the founding fathers were running from tyranny, and it seems anyone going to mars is either running - or planning to take it with them. i still love space travel, i firmly believe we need to colonise the galaxy at least, i just hope people really do grow up before a few ijits kill us all off. great video by the way, great channel, the best coverage, tip top!!

Logical. I didn't see a SpaceX contingent at COP29, which, given the probable growth of said industry and the overwhelmingly large fraction of greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Sorry, my brain fried at the notion that people will grow up. They can't even acknowledge the function of atmospheric CO2 etc as hazards. And by 'people', I'm referring to the people, foolishly elected, in charge of industries, largely biospherically destructive, who knee-jerkily pull earth-future slot machine levers in anticipation of huge payouts at a cost they won't suffer. Apologies to the late, great, Hann....no - Ambrose Bierce, author of the Devil's Dictionary, whose ghost-writer I'm stuck with reading as we slide into any number of abysses. But yeah, amazing views. Great work, Team EA.

Mesmerizing! Cinematic! Reminiscent of the beautiful super, no, ultra-fast frame rates of the launch pad cameras NASA was using (I guess that was all very new tech at that time?) for the Apollo launches. They're going to be even so much better when they start launching from pad B, and then at the cape where there's less (zero?) sand and dirt so close to the pad. I know Elon wants to beautify Starbase as much, and as soon as possible. Will be interesting to see what things look like down there in another 10 yrs.
