Wow the Inter-City 125 brought back memories, that was my first Hornby train set when I was a kid. Great layout 👍🏻

Very impressive, the sound locos are enhanced by being outdoors along with birdsong👍

Hi Mate, Very well done line looks great! I have just made a 42FT structure in my garden but am having trouble powering the whole of the line, it is one continuous track with lops at either end, I was just wondering if you knew of a way of powering the full line? would i have to add more controllers to the line ? if so would you suggest where please ? Thanks Jack

Hi Jack I'm no expert but just looking to make my own garden railway and what I've read is to solder wires between each section of track and not rely on the fishplates for electrical conductivity don't know if that's any help to you but thought it worth throwing it out there
@sumoant464 жыл бұрын
loving your layout thinking of doing a small oo gauge outdoors what would be the best track to use
@themechanic93984 жыл бұрын
Peco nickel silver flexy track. Garden railways in oo gauge allows you to create a greater radius curves. Being able to make your own curves as apposed to using set track will allow more natural looking curves. Long trains will look alot better as well and should perform alot better too. You can use points but recommend you keep them covered during bad weather to give the contacts better protection against the elements. Using copper paste or using link wires between each track section should help improve continuity through the entire track layout and reduce voltage drops.

Love that the train is all dirty, great attention to detail. Can you use indoor train sets outside or is this different?
@chrisbell50322 жыл бұрын
It's just normal 00 guage (indoor) stuff,a conversion to battery(not that easy) would aleviate the problems of the track oxidising though.

Hello there! This garden railway is fantastic, but out of interest, what track company are you using? I've been doing some research for my own possible garden railway and it's now coming down to cost.
@Karlsgardenrailway4 жыл бұрын
Hello I have built my garden railway using second hand track from ebay and alike might be worth looking as you can get a lot for your money

hi What happens when it rains on a garden layout such as this? OK stop trains running but does the rain cause problems with the track? Kind regards -thanks for any info
@badwolf5062 жыл бұрын
I tend not to run in the rain to avoid any issues that may affect the DCC, the track doesn’t suffer any problem in the rain. I have more issues with the sun causing expansion
@alannewman85Ай бұрын
How do you prevent problems due to the expansion and contraction in the hottest and coldest weather?
@badwolf506Ай бұрын
@@alannewman85 I haven’t really found it to be too much of a problem
@alannewman85Ай бұрын
@@badwolf506 That's amazing, thanks for your reply. I'm envious of yours by the way! Well done! Another question if I may, when you laid the track, was it a warm day or a cold day, can you recall? Reason I ask is I'd planned to lay track in the warmest weather, with no gap at the joints, meaning the track should only contract as opposed to buckling from that point on.
@badwolf506Ай бұрын
@@alannewman85 that’s worth a try, most of mine was laid in March 2020, so not warm.

@toucan221Ай бұрын
silly question but what has 4mm got to do with anything, I can understand OO but at loss for -4mm?
@badwolf506Ай бұрын
4mm to 1ft is the scale ratio. 00 is the track gauge.
