Keep in mind that in order to use the full capabilities of the charger you will need to use a 20v input power source that is capable of outputting at least 3A and the actual maximum current is also subjected to the voltage of the charged battery, since the maximum output power is 60W. For example, the maximum current that you will be able to charge a 4s battery is around 3.8A (60W/16v).

Given that USB-C is rated to 100 watts, using 20 volt and 5 amp, I'm wondering why they did not take advantage of the extra to amps available on the protocol? I believe it's a smart protocol that has the device checking to see what amount of voltage and current is available from the source so I don't see any issue with overdrawing from the supply.

@@Jrod_FPV Well it costs $15, and is passively cooled. I can imagine 100W would need active cooling, driving up the cost and portability. Also there must be a ton more 45W and 60W being included with laptops compared to 100W capable chargers. This seems perfect to use with a 45W capable USB-C PD powerbank I have to charge small 2s/3s lipo's in the field.

I bought this charger and it hasn't worked since the beginning. After pressing the start button, the charging icon lights up for a second and then turns off. It doesn't show any error. Anyone had such a problem?

Would it be a good idea to use this with 500 mAh 4s lipo batteries? I heard you are supposed to charge these at 0.5 A, so I am not sure if the 1A minimum charging or this charger is okay?

Nice review! Liked and sub. I've been wanting to see a charger similar to this released for quite some time now. This one approaches it but it's still not exactly what the perfect economy travel charger is in my eyes. This one however is still very convenient and portable and I commend isdt on their great looking product I wanted to see something with mechanical switches for current selection and end voltage selection, and something that it starts as soon as you plug in the battery. Also, I want to see something that charges only through balance leads when two amps or less charge speed is used. My thought is that with this kind of setup I would buy five or six chargers and save myself the time of checking voltages charging in parallel. But I think currently the cheapest way to charge quickly for the lowest cost investment of charges is by using parallel charging. Though very very risky if you are not super careful.

If you do make a usb c xt60 cable, please only ever plug it into this charger. It wont charge your macbook and it will likely damage your phone or other appliances.

If battery is going to be charged using the xt60 output, why connect the balanced output? If the balanced iutput is going to charge the battery perfectly, why connect the xt60 output? Why connect both together?

The balance port is used at the end of the charging cycle to make sure that battery cells are properly balanced. At the first part of the charging cycle the XT60 connector is used. (Charging current is lower when using the balance plug).

Which concluded that I will be able to use this device as all in one charger for Liion, and to charge 12.8 v lifepo4 packs like usual even if it does not have the balanced port. Because having those big bricks that work on AC, are too much to have for each kind of battery pack.

Hey Gal im always using about 750-900mah 4s batteries which I currently charge on a parallel board off of a q6. Was wondering if I could use this since I have some large powerbanks if it would be fine parallel charging bout 3 packs at a time. also if there is a newer version or charger you'd recommend but I like minimal and my q6 i keep inside as its a little finicky and doesn't take usbc power
