I think the question at this point is, is Young struggling because he's not NFL material? Or because he hasn't had the opportunity to properly develop into a starting role? His game is rough, no question. But that's not completely unheard of with QBs just coming into the league. In fact, it can generally be expected that there is at least one thing in their game in need of development. Ultimately, I think he's absolutely better off at second string. We'll see if he can develop in a way that makes him starting material, if not with the Panthers, then with one of the other 31 teams.

Bryce had 2 problems coming into the league that he had no control of. 1. He's too small. 2. The expectations for him were too high because of the overinflated feeling of superiority of the SEC in general and Bama in particular.
@heyheyhey333518 сағат бұрын
I absolutely agree with your second point. The SEC (or Big 10, or whatever hyped up division is under the telescope of recruiters) is NOT equivalent to what the Minor Leagues are to MLB, where all the players are playing with the intent of getting called up into the Majors. A large number of college players are not going to get drafted, and a large number of the players aren't even there with the expectation (or even intent) of going pro. College performance absolutely does not predict performance in the NFL. Yet drafts continue to seem to reflect the hype that was built around college performances. I kind of disagree with your first point, though. At least as far as height goes. Kyler Murray is also 5'10". Russell Wilson is 5'11". They both have or had linemen that were well over 6 feet. Now, the important similarity between Murray and Wilson is that they are incredibly mobile. Can't really say that about Young. But could he adapt? Possibly.

All Of Those Have Gotten Better. O-Line has drastically improved and has been protecting Bryce young unlike last year. The only sacks that have came was when Bryce young extended the play. We couldn’t even evaluate these WR’s because the ball hasn’t been pushed down the field. The WR Group as a whole has improved. Who would you rather have? Diontae Johnson Or DJ Chark? Adam Thielen dispite his age is still competitive and we haven’t even opened up the play book for Legette. I believe this week we look more competitive than the past two weeks. I understand the NATIONAL media has an opinion about this this team for this year, but the national media doesn’t watch our games to truly get a good enough analysis, because if they did, they wouldn’t utter the O-Line as a problem.

The Panthers have no one. Thats the part ppl leave out when talking about Bryce. He is the only 2nd year guy that doesn’t have a number 1 receiver and didn’t have one in year 1. And the franchise is doomed if management isn’t right. Period.

I love cam and agree with him on most things. He makes a lot of good points but I will say that he pointed out that Bryce needs an o Line, and on PFF, the panthers currently have the 4th best rated O-line. Protection is not the problem. Bryce has awful accuracy on any throw further than 10 yards. Part of it is the confidence, and a lot of it is his fundamentals such as not being able to keep his feet grounded when throwing because he is so short, he has to stand on his tippie toes to see over the line lol

So Nick Saban recruits QBs that are not accurate?
@fatboyslim4969 сағат бұрын
I might be an anomaly, but I don't think QBs should start as rookies. It erodes their confidence, and impacts them after their rookie season. Seems to be part of what's going on here.

Bryce Young was drafted into a position that would be tough for most any QB for starting their career. I absolutely believe that's at the least a part of what's going on. The guy is by no means of the same caliber as C.J. Stroud, but Stroud is an EXTREMELY rare case of a rookie QB hitting their NFL-tier stride almost right off the bat. Because Young got drafted higher than Stroud, that in itself hurts his image (though by no fault of his own). Am I saying that Young has starting QB material? Absolutely not. But I am saying that I don't think that what has been seen from him on the field has established that he cannot develop into at least second string QB material. It could also out turn out that he is absolutely not NFL material at any string. But I can see, if the Panthers don't keep him, one of the other 31 teams taking a chance and signing him as second string. EDIT: Correction, Harper changed to Young.

Much Love for my boy Cam, but stop it...!! If anyone should know you should know. You're exactly right Bryce does need some help, in fact hes shown that he can only thrive when there are perfect pieces and talent around him. Well this is the NFL, the chances of that happening are slim. When I watch the flim, as a die heart fan 3 times over, Bryce situation has noticed to do with his accuracy and his decision making, which BOTH were suppose to be his strong point which are definitely weaknesses. Bryce has NO superpower, and the game is to big for him. What he done in High School or College doesn't have to automatically translate to the NFL and we are witnessing it first hand. KP🪒.... 1💙🤟🏾

Why do people keep blaming the lack of talent vs what bryce isn't doing? Did the Panthers not invest in the offense this off-season? Cam are you saying Chuba and Miles, can't get it done behind a line that also had a 150 million dollar upgrade? When do we watch film and look at Bryce? I don't fault Bryce for last yr. It's not that young doesn't have excuses. But these past 2 games the kid gave us NOTHING to show growth. Couldn't read a def. Couldn't throw accurately and looks panicked when the pressure is there. This is not high school football. It's not college. It's the Fn NFL!!! And his lack of size, arm strength and lack of speed appears to have a factor of an issue in which at this level football, he may not overcome. Let's see what Andy does, I bet people see the offense then.

Tf does money have to do with the fact they’re the 19th ranked o line and they’re just not playing good
@joes88899 сағат бұрын
@learn2xpand862 that's not true. They were graded top 5 coming out of last week, by pff I believe it was. 4 of them are pro bowlers. But what does money do you ask? Well it is what paid for the extra two pro bowlers we added to our line in James Hunt and Damien Lewis. The line gave bryce plenty of time, one doesn't even have to know football to see the times Bryce had time, he still fucked up his pass. It's HIM!!! The line didn't over throw dionte Johnson by 5 or more yards. The line didn't under throw a short yard pass to adam theilen. And the line didn't make several inaccurate reads and throws for interception. People need to stop making excuses for Bryce. The film doesn't lie. That's why the mf got benched!!!

@@joes8889 top 5? @learn2xpand862 as for running, dude you have to know that stat doesn't tell the whole story. Gm 1 both lead backs were in single digits, with Bryce passing game a wreck. I'd blame some play calling on that. Week 2, chuba got a boost in the run attempts and he rewarded with 6.2 avg per carry. Watch what happens this weekend with Andy. Win or lose, I'm willing to bet people start seeing the weapons and the line not as an excuse. It was bryce. Just watch his film!! That's why his small ass got benched. Yea, he's got some last yr ptsd, and maybe not all his fault. But week 1 and week 2? It was bryce! 100%
