Great video for sure, I really like seeing the VR6 engine being put together from top to bottom but it would be nice if you explained what the torque specs were on each bolt that "you're" tightening down rather than showing a fast forward video of it. It would help our future builders!
@j.m.59952 жыл бұрын
Torque specs are available thru the Factory Bentley Manual. Of youre undertaking this task especially as a first timer and you dont have the factory manual nearby youre setting off to fail. Its just common sense rhat this task requires plenty of planning ahead of time for it to go along smoothly and quickly
@Eurospec732 жыл бұрын
@@j.m.5995 Yes I'm well aware that having a factory manual will show you the torque specs, but it would have been nice to hear what some of are especially for people that haven't done something like this before, because not knowing what the spec is and just tightening it down by hand can either make or break the job.

How does a head gasket add compression?

It’s thinner than the old gasket used on this block and head. So using the metal gasket(thinner) instead of the fiber gasket (thicker) brings up the standard compression ratio

Sorry for all the questions but I don't have much contact with individuals who are rebuilding what I'm rebuilding. What injectors would you recommend for somebody like me who currently at least for the next year will not have a boosted VR but does have all high performance parts put into the engine with upgraded cams. I've heard somebody talking about the mid-80s to very early 90s 330 CC Mustang injectors. The information on this topic is almost non existent aside from a few people in forms
@CIPGAS3 жыл бұрын
@@Jason-TheChad-Muska_circa1995 no need to apologize. My will be tune by GermanElite Tuning. As for the injectors 330cc should be fine while it’s naturally aspirated but if you’re going to boost I will not be enough fuel, I would look into 650cc Bosch EV14’s and that way you only have to buy injectors once.

Max speeding rods🤣🤣🤣 fellas. Listen. Real talk. I have IE Tuscany rods in my bat 1.8t. (One of my buds way smarter than me, running the u of u racing research team and our local VAG tuner savant said that was the way to go) *insurance payout$ for getting t boned in a 1 of 54 laser B5.* my fella also said it's basically just the extra qc, shot peening etc that they do. They source the same blank batches from the same Chinese factory. Max speeding rods is direct. 100% not even close to the qc IE does and for a blueprinted engine... yeah you don't want Max speeding rods. It's like 3-4× as expensive as eBay rods. BUT... I roll around with buddies who budget built their cars years ago pushing 450-550 awhp @ 5k elevation for years with Max speeding rods. To be honest, there's been a few that ran into tolerance issues immediately, but like 95% had no issue and I wouldn't think 2x for the cost savings to get em unless you dropped 20k into a build. My Tuscany's have survived blowing TF up out of 3 motors now (2 were gates/conti timing belt shredding) so nothing too crazy, and have been running my daily fully built bat b5 for a few years now @ 200 miles per day. They are solid. That said... 200-300$ rods at this point have the same long term reputation where it's totally worth the tiny gamble
