I love watching your videos. I'm in the process of a full engine rebuild in a c5 A6. Stage 3++ rods new bearings ported n polished heads. 1mm bigger valves. The works. And then you swapping to vr6 hurts my heart but also will give you more smiles per miles. So I understand. Lol good luck with the build. Edit: I did use your code for the rods. I was gonna order IE rods. But they're the same rod as MP rods. And with 15% off it was a no brainer

Sounds like it will be an awesome build. And no need to worry I’ll have another 2.7t very soon. Happy to see I was able to help you save some $$.

It's good that you are trying to replace all the parts, but what about surface planning? Do you not have a CNC grinder in the area that would do the block and cylinder head planning? These are basic things that are done before assembling the head, also what I have noticed is that you do not lapped the valves in the seats - it is laborious but it will not do itself. Valve stem seals - as someone already wrote - blue intake, brown exhaust.

Great video. Do you know if there are advantages and disadvantages to 12v vs 24v?
@CIPGAS2 жыл бұрын
The 24v is a better motor overall Specially when using variable valve timing. But the 12v has a very distinct sound which I like more. And is also much much less expensive to build.

Valve stem seal colors through me for a loop, too. Air intake should be blue!

What valve spring compressor did you use?

Wow, I never expected to learn about engine assembly on this channel, you did a nice job. How much of the swap do you intend to complete on your own and apart from parts how much is the swap going to cost. A few years ago I contacted a shop in Jersey and the guy said labor was something like $20K. I think I'll go down to the local tech college and learn some welding/fabrication skills.
@CIPGAS3 жыл бұрын
Yeah man this stuff can get crazy expensive when paying for labor. I’m doing most of it myself except what I require special tools of space for. Sadly I don’t have a tig welder so that is being outsourced but all other assembly will be done by me.

Check the cam to bucket clearance, I don’t think you can just put anyone anywhere

This was temporary and just for the video. The cams were replaced with 262 cams and new buckets were installed
