Thanks for the video mate. My newly purchased NS is having code issues that relate to map and boost. Saw your wastegate pipes and compared to mine. Mine were all ass up, so I replicated yours, and when I went for a test drive wow, more go for sure. Unfortunately didn't fix my code error that happens after climbing a long steep mountain pass then coasting down a section she goes into limp mode. However, I did see an electrical connection that was not done up, near the intake. So off for another test run. Dunno who worked on the car last, but they didn't know their ass from their elbow...

that first solenoid you pointed to is for the swirl control valve. the lower half of the manifold has butterfly valves which are meant to increase air velocity at low rpm to increase torque and run of engine vacuum.

As someone with no prior mechanical knowledge - so far yes (in my experience). I've owned a diesel 2014 NW for 9 months now and so far the only things have been a broken rear door strut and dead battery plus the usual fluid top ups. I do need new suspension though. I've learned heaps from the Pajero Facebook groups, and there is so much support and info available! e.g. changing fuel filter, adjusting the in-cabin handbrake.

i had an issue last week where the vacuum line from my front diff solenoid had been caught by the fan and pulled off, i just used a 4mm 90 degree elbow and some new line and reconnected and re routed, my symptom was after about 25-30 mins of driving , the transfer case light started flashing,, no loss in power luckily, after that repair, just completed 2700km round trip to fraser island and back

Hey Brett, I have a problem with my 08 GLS Pajero 3.2L did 4M41. when driving at temp in 2x4 the 2 green wheel lights will flash then switch off and the centre diff light will start flashing. I however still can drive and the diff sends power to the rear wheels but I can't change from 2x4 to any of the range gears unless i turn off the car and turn it back on

Long story. Got it done but the turbo went at the same time due to the air filter not sealing and it ate dust killing the bearing. So it only had less than a week on the road between getting that done and getting the new turbo, intercooler and tune done.. So I can't say how much difference it made on its own. Unfortunately the need to get it all done quick for a trip away robbed me of the opportunity to document it all for the channel. That said, it's awesome now but it wants to be $6000 later.

Heya Brett. I cant find the vid you did on the rear hub bearing I recall you making. Anyhow, when you got it changed, was there actual movement in the wheel when you checked, or was it because of it being noisy that you changed it? I just changed my left rear because of a dry rubbing noise that got worse when I swerved the car to the right, and quieter swerving to the left, thus loading and unloading each side but there was no movement in either rear wheel when I checked by rocking elevated wheel with hands in 12 and 6 positions. Unfortunately, the noise didn't reduce by much after changing what I was convinced was the noisier left rear. However, I had the car up on stands yesterday and investigated further by rotating the drive train and listening, hearing the drivers side rear certainly making a dry rubbing noise, like the drum shoes were sticking on. I had a pro brake shop put all new rotors on my car a few months ago, so am confident the rotor isn't warped and that the handbrake shoes are correctly installed (they were on the passenger side, so 🤷‍♂). Anyhow, I was just wondering about your experience in the first paragraph. Though I happen to have another rear hub bearing and might just go out an change now anyhow, I still would be interested in your feedback.
@DENMONKEY
@DENMONKEY Жыл бұрын
Hey Karl, oooh that's a while ago. I was getting more of a whining noise mostly. I can't recall hearing any movement type noises like knocking etc but when checked the was a bit of movement of the wheel due to the failing bearing.
@karl4834
@karl4834 Жыл бұрын
@DENMONKEY cheers, Brett. I have no knocking like that described in forums, which would certainly see bearing moment at wheel. The swerving hard left to right is meant to load and unload each side to see which makes noise. Anyhow, car is up on jack and work begins.
@karl4834
@karl4834 Жыл бұрын
All done. For those who are hunting through comments and forums for info on increased road noise in Pajeros suspecting bearings. As I discovered, you can have noisy bearings and not have any play in them. My driver's side rear had been adding to road noise, but changing it out today cleared up the rumble I was becoming concerned about. If you're going to do it yourself, make sure you have your wheeties for breaky and have some heat for the 4 studs holding the hub.
